And he sayed vnto you is it geuen to knowe the secretes of the kingdome of God: but to other in symylytudes, that when they se, they shoulde not vnderstande.

And so he sayde: go, and tell thys people: ye shall heare in dede, but ye shall not vnderstande, ye shall playnelye se, & not perceyue.

& he sayd vnto them: To you it is geuen to knowe the mysterye of the kyngedome of God. But vnto them that are without: shal al thynges be done in similitudes:

At that time Iesus aunswered and said: I prayse the, O father Lorde of heauen and earth, because thou hast hid these thinges from the wyse and prudent, and hast opened theim vnto babes:

Heare thys (thou folyshe and vndiscrete people) ye haue eyes, but ye se not: eares haue ye, but ye heare not.

Yet men nether considre ner vnderstande, because their eyes are stopped, that they can not se: and their hertes, that they cannot perceyue.

that their hertes mighte be comforted and knit together in loue, and in all riches of full vnderstandinge for to knowe the mystery of God the father and of Christe,

To hym that is of power to stablysh you, accordynge to my Gospell and preachinge of Iesus Christe, in vtterynge of the mysterye whiche was kepte secrete sence the worlde began,

And Iesus aunswered and sayde to hym: happy arte thou Symon the sonne of Ionas, for fleshe & bloude hath not opened vnto the that, but my father which is in heauen.

The secrete of the Lorde is amonge them that feare him, and he sheweth them hys couenaunt.

& yet the Lord hath not geuen you an herte to perceyue, nor eyes to se, nor eares to heere vnto thys daye.

And wythout naye greate is that mysterye of godlynes: God was shewed in the fleshe, was iustified in the spirite, was sene of aungels, was preached vnto the gentils, was beleued on in earth and receyued vp in glory.

And these all worketh euen the selfe same spyryte, deuydynge to euerye man seuerall gyftes, euen as he wyll.

he hath blynded theyr eyes and hardened theyr hertes, that they shoulde not se with theyr eyes, and vnderstand with theyr hertes, and shoulde be conuerted, and I shoulde heale them.

therfore will I also shewe vnto thys people a maruelous, terryble, and great thing (Namelye thys:) I wyll destroye the wysdom of theyr wyse, & the vnderstandynge of theyr learned men shall peryshe.

Thou sonne of man, thou dwellest in the myddest of a frowarde housholde: whiche haue eyes to se, and yet se not: eares haue they to hear, & yet heare thei not, for they are an obstinate housholde.

that when they se, they shall se, and not dyscerne, and when they heare, they shal heare, and not vnderstand leste at any tyme they shoulde tourne: & theyr synnes shoulde be forgeuen them,
