Beleuest thou that there is one God? Thou doest well. The deuyls also beleue and tremble.

saiyng: let be: what haue we to do with the thou Iesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy vs, I knowe the what thou arte, euen the holye of God.

And behold they cried out saying: O Iesu the sonne of God, what haue we to do with the? Art thou come hither to torment vs before the tyme be come?

But ye denyed the holye and iuste: and desyred a mortherer to be geuen you

And wryte vnto the tydinges bringer of the congregacyon of Philadelphia, this sayeth he that is holy and true, which hath the keye of Dauid, which openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth & no man openeth.

And deuyls also came oute of many of them cryinge and saiyng: thou arte Christ the sonne of God. And he rebuked them, and suffered them not to speake: for they knewe that he was Christe.

And the aungell aunswered and sayd vnto her: The holye ghoste shall come vnto the, and the power of the hyest shall ouer shadowe the. Therfore also that holye thynge whiche shall be borne shalbe called the sonne of God.

And he toke the dragon that olde serpent which is the deuyl and Satanas, & he bound him a thousand yeares:

He that committeth sinne, is of the deuil, for the deuil sinneth sence the beginninge. For this purpose appered the sonne of God to lowse the workes of the deuil.

For as muche then as the children were partetakers of fleshe and bloude, he also him selfe lyke wyse toke part wyth them, for to put doune thorowe death, that is to saye the deuyll,

and came and besought them, and brought them oute, & desyered them to departe out of the cytie.

For of a trueth againste thy holy childe Iesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herode and also Poncius Pilate, with the Gentyls & the people of Israel, gathered them selues together,

because thou wylt not leaue my soule in hel, neyther wylte suffer thine holy, to se corruption.

And all the whole multitude of the Gaderenites, besought hym that he woulde departe from them: for they were taken with greate feare. And he gate him into the shyppe, and retourned backe againe.

When he sawe Iesus he cried and fel doune before him, and with a loud voice saied: What haue I to do with the Iesus the sonne of the God moste hiest? I besech the tormente me not.

and cryed with a loude voyce, and sayde: what haue I to do with a loude voyce, and sayde: what haue I to do with the Iesus the sonne of the most hyest God? I requyre the in the name of God that thou torment me not.

& he healed many that were sicke of dyuers dyseases. And he cast out manye deuyls, and suffered not the deuyls to speake, because they knew hym.

.Lxx. weakes are determed ouer thy people, and ouer the holy citie: that the wickednesse maye be consumed, that the sinne maye haue an ende, that the offence may be reconcyled, and to bringe in euerlastinge righteousnesse, to fulfill the visions and the Prophetes, and to annoynte the most holy one.

For why? thou shalt not leaue my soule in hell, neither shalt thou suffre thy saincte to se corrupcion.

Moreouer, I wyll put hatred betwene the & the woman, & betwene thy seed and her seed. And that seed shall tread the on thy heed, and thou shalt treade it on the hele.

Then saide she vnto Eliah: what haue I done with the, O thou man of God? arte thou come vnto me, that my sinne shoulde be tought on & my sonne slayne?

And in the synagoge ther was a man which had a spyryte of an vncleane deuyll, and cried with a loude voyce
