And I saye also vnto you: make you frendes, of the wycked mammon, that when ye shall depart, they maye receyue you into euerlastynge habitacyons.

And Iesus sayde vnto him, if thou wilt be perfecte go and sell that thou haste, and geue it to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come and folowe me.

No man can serue two maysters. For eyther he shall hate the one & loue the other: yea or eles he shall leane to the one & dispise the other. Ye cannot serue God & Mammon.

Wherfore, O Kyng, be content with my councel, that thou mayeste lowse thy synnes wyth ryghtuousnesse, and thyne offences with mercye to poore people: for suche thynges shall prolonge thy peace.

So then yf ye haue not ben faythfull in the wycked Mammon: who wyll beleue you in that which is true?

He that hath pittie vppon the poore, lendeth vnto the Lord: & loke what he layeth oute, it shalbe payed hym agayn.

& thou shalte be happy, for they can not recompence the. But thou shalte be recompensed at the resurreccyon of the iust men.

Sell that ye haue, and geue almes. And make you bagges whiche were not old, and treasure that faileth not in heauen, where no these cometh, neyther mothe corrupteth.

Neuerthelesse geue almose of that ye haue, and beholde all is cleane to you.

For oure excedynge trybulation whiche is momentanye and lyghte, prepareth an excedynge and eternall wayghte of glory vnto vs,

No seruaunte can serue two maysters, for other he shal hate the one and loue the other, or els he shall leane to the one, and despyse the other. Ye can not serue God and Mammon.

and sayd: Cornelius, thy prayer is hearde, and thine almes deades are had in remembraunce in the sight of God.

Se that ye gater you not treasure vpon the earth, where ruste & mothes corrupte, & wher theues breake throughe & steale.

and kepe your selues in the loue of God, lokynge for the mercye of oure Lorde Iesus Christe, vnto eternall lyfe.

When he loked on hym he was afraid and said, what is it Lord? He sayed vnto hym: Thy prayers and all thy almeses are come vp into remembraunce before God.

Sende thy vyttuayls ouer the waters, and so shalt thou finde them after many yeares.

Why wylt thou set thyne eie vpon the thing, which sodenly vanysheth awaye? For ryches make them selues wynges, & take their flight lyke an Aegle into the ayre.

For I chide not euer, & am not wroth without ende. But the blastinge goeth from me, though I make the breath.

My fleash & my hert fayleth, but God is the strength of my herte, and my porcion for euer.

I wote what to do, that when I am put oute of stewardshyppe, they maye receyue me into theyr houses.

Ryches are an ornamente vnto the wyse, but the ignoraunce of fooles is very folyshnesse,
