What man of you hauynge an hundred shepe, yf he loose one of them, doth not leaue nynty and nyne in the wildernes, and go after that which is lost vntyl he fynde hym?
Suche as be loste, wyll I seke: suche as go astraye, wyll I bryng agayn: suche as be wounded, wil I bynde vp: suche as be weake, wyll I make stronge: suche as be fat and well lyking, those wil I preserue, and fede them with the thynge that is laufull.
My people hath bene a lost flocke, my shepherdes haue disceyued them, and haue made them go astraye vpon the hylles. They haue gone from the mountayne to the litle hyl, and forgotten their folde.
Then aunswered hym the Lorde, and said: Hypocryte, doth not eache one of you on the saboth daye, lowse hys oxe or hys asse from the stall, and leade hym to the water
Thus sayth the Lorde God: As trulye as I lyue, for so much as my shepe are robbed, & deuoured of all the wylde beastes of the felde, hauynge no shepherde: and seinge that my shepeherdes take no regarde of my shepe, but fede them selues onely, and not my shepe:
Therfore arte thou inexcusable (O man) whosoeuer thou be that iudgest. For in that same wherin thou iudgest another, thou condemnest thy selfe. For thou that iudgeste doest euen the same selfe thynges.
in the cytyes vpon the mountaynes, and in the cyties that lay vpon the plaine, and in the deserte. In the lande of Ben Iamin, in the feldes of Ierusalem, and in the cities of Iuda, shall the shepe be nombred agayn, vnder the hand of him, that telleth them, sayeth the Lorde.
The weake haue ye not holden vp, the sicke haue ye not healed: the broken haue ye not bounde together, the oute castes haue ye not brought agayne: the lost haue ye not soughte, but churlishly and cruellye haue ye ruled them.
