For in so muche as he remembreth hym selfe, & turneth him from all the vngodlynes, that he had vsed, he shall lyue, and not dye.

Wherfore he sayth: awake thou that slepest, and stand vp from death, and Christ shall geue the lyght.

Yea as sone as thou turnest me, I shall refourme my self: and when I vnderstande, I shall smyte vpon my thyghe. For verelye I haue committed shamefull thinges: O let my youth beare this reprofe and confusyon.

Now doth Ierusalem remembre the tyme of her misery & dysobedience, yee the ioye and pleasure that she hath had in tymes past: seynge her people is brought downe thorow the power of their enemie, & there is no man for to helpe her: her enemies stande lokinge at her & laugh her Sabbath dayes to scorne.

Amonge all thynges that come to passe vnder the Sunne, this is a mysery, that it happeneth vnto all alyke. This is the cause also that the hertes of men are ful of wyckednes, and mad folishnes is in their hertes as longe as they liue, vntyl they dye.

Yea, euen like as a dreame when one awaketh, so makest thou their ymage too vanysh out of the cytye.

I cal myne owne wayes to remembrance, and turne my fete into thy testimonies.

and thoughe she runne after her louers, yet shall she not get them: she shall seke them, but not fynde them. Then shall she saye: wel I wyll go turne agayne to my firste housbande, for at that tyme was I better at ease, then nowe.

And he woulde fayne haue fylled hys bellye with the codes that swyne eate. And no man gaue hym.

And when Peter was come to hym selfe, he sayde. Nowe I knowe of a suretye, that the Lorde hath sent hys aungell, and hath delyuered me out of the hande of Herode, and from all the waytyng for of the people of the Iewes.
