For whosoeuer exalteth him selfe, shalbe broughte lowe. And he that humbleth him selfe, shalbe exalted.

I tell you: this man departed home to hys house iustifyed more then the other. For euerye man that exalteth hym selfe, shalbe brought lowe. And he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted.

But whosoeuer exalteth hym selfe: shalbe brought lowe, and he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted.

After pryde commeth a fal, but a lowly spirit bringeth great worshippe.

The feare of the Lord is the righte scyence of wysdome, and lowlines goeth before honure.

For who so humbleth hym selfe, him shall he set vp: and who so loketh mekely, shalbe healed.

And Samuel sayde when thou waste lytle in thyne owne sighte, wast thou not made the head of the trybes of Israell? And the Lorde anoynted the Kynge ouer Israel.

He sheweth strength with his arme, he scattereth them that are proude in the ymagynacion of their hertes.

For thus sayeth the hye and excellent, euen he that dwelleth in euerlastingnesse, whose name is the holy one. I dwell hye aboue & in the sanctuary, and with him also, that is of a contrite & humble spirite: that I maye heale a troubled mind, & a contrite hert.

And the people that are in aduersite, thou shalt helpe. And on the proude shalt thou cast thyne eyes.

Like as it is not good to eate to much hony, euen so he that wil search out hyghe things, it shalbe to heuy for him.

He putteth doune the mightye from their seates, and exalteth them of low degre.

Then sayde he also to hym that had desyered hym to dyner. When thou makest a dyner or a supper: call not thy frendes, nor thy brethren, neyther thy kynsmen nor yet ryche neyghboures: least they byd the agayne, and a recompence be made the.

Let the brother of low degre reioyce in that he is exalted,

Submit youre selues therfore vnder the myghty hande of God, that he maye exalte you, when the tyme is come.

The kinge saide: make haste, and take as thou hast sayde, the rayment and the horse: & do euen so with Mardocheus the Iewe that sytteth before the kynges gate, & let nothinge fayle of all that thou hast spoken.
