And the ruler of the synagoge aunswered with indignacion (because that Iesus had healed on the Saboth daye) & sayed vnto the people. There are .vi. dayes, in whiche men oughte to worke, in them come and be healed, & not on the Saboth daye.

Sixe dayes mayst thou laboure and do all that thou hast to do:

When the Phariseis sawe that they sayde vnto him: Beholde, thy discyples do that which is not laufwl to do vpon the saboth daye.

And the scrybes and pharyseis watched him, to see whether he would heale on the saboth daye, that they myght fynde an accusacion against him.

And beholde there came a man named Iairus (and he was a ruler of the synagoge) and he fell doune at Iesus fete, and besought hym that he woulde come into his house,

How be it one Crispus the chiefe rular of the Synagoge beleued on the Lorde wyth al his houshold, & manye of the Corinthians gaue audience & beleued, and were baptised.

And after the law and the prophetes we read, the rulers of the synagoge sent vnto them, saiyng: Ye men and brethren, yf ye haue anye sermon to exhort the people, saye on.

And thei were fylled full of madnes, and communed one with another, what they might do to Iesus.

I gaue them also my holy dayes, to be a token betwixte me and them, and therby know, that I am the Lorde, whiche haloweth them.

Syxe dayes ye shall worke, and the seuenth is the Sabboth of reast an holy feast: so that ye maye doo no worke therin, for it is the Sabboth of the Lorde, wheresoeuer ye dwell.

Sixe dayes thou shalt do thy worcke and the seuenth daye thou shalt kepe holye daye, that thyne oxe and thyne asse maye reste and the sonne of thy maide and the stranger may be refreshed.

Syxe dayes thou shalt laboure & do all that thou hast to do,

for so muche as ye haue shot the weake shepe vpon the sydes & shoulders, and runne vpon them with youre hornes, so longe tyll ye haue vtterlye scatred them abroad
