truelye ye beare witnes, that ye alowe the deedes of youre fathers: for they kylled them, and ye buylde theyr sepulchres.

Take (my brethren) the Prophetes for an ensample of sufferyng aduersitye, & of longe pacience, whiche spake in the name of the Lorde.

So then ye be witnesses to your selues, that ye are the chyldren of them whyche kylled the Prophetes.

But they mocked the messengers of God & despised theyr wordes & mysse vsed his prophetes, vntyll the wrath of the Lord so arose agaynst hys people that it was past remeadie.

And yet saye ye: Wherfore then should not this sonne beare his fathers sinne? Therfore: because the sonne hath done equitie and ryght, hath kepte al my commaundementes, and done them: therfore shal he leue in dede.

Thyne owne mouth condemneth the, and not I: ye thyne owne lyppes shape the an answere.

Then Iosua sayde vnto the folke, ye are wytnesses vnto youre selues, that ye haue chosen you the Lorde, to serue hym: and they said we are wytnesses.

Yea their owne tonges shall make them fall, in somuch that who so seyth them, shall laugh them to scorne.

Wo be to you Scribes and Phariseis hypocrytes, for ye are lyke vnto paynted tombes, whiche appeare beautifull outwarde, but are within full of dead bones and of all filthines.

Wo be to you: ye buylde the sepulchres of of the Prophetes, and youre fathers kylled them,

Therfore sayde the wysdome of God: I wyll send them Prophetes and Apostles, and of them they shall slea and persecute,

Whyche men though they knewe the ryghtuousnes of God, howe that they which such thinges commit, are worthy of death, yet not onely do the same, but also haue pleasure in them that do them.
