The lyght of thy body is the eye Therfor when thyne eye is single: then is al thy body full of lyghte. But yf thyne eye be euyll: then shall thy bodye also be ful of darknes.

Oure reioysinge is this, the testimony of oure conscience, that in synglenes and Godly purenes, and not in fleshely wysdome, but by the grace of God, we haue had oure conuersation in the worlde, and moste of all to youwardes.

Haue ye eyes and se not? and haue ye eares and heare not? Do ye not remember?

Yet men nether considre ner vnderstande, because their eyes are stopped, that they can not se: and their hertes, that they cannot perceyue.

And nowe beholde the hande of the Lorde is vpon the, and thou shalbe blynde, and not se the sunne for a season. And immediatlye there fell on hym a myste and a darcknes, and he wente about sekynge them that shoulde leade hym by the hande.

For the Lorde shall geue you an harde slepynge spryte, and holde doune youre eyes: namelye youre Prophetes and heades which shuld se, them shall he couer.

Harden the hart of thys people, stoppe theyr eares, and shutte theyr eyes, that they se not with theyr eyes, heare not wyth theyr eares, and vnderstande not wyth theyr hertes, and conuerte and be healed.

So I gaue them vp vnto their owne hertes luste, and let them folowe theyr owne ymaginacions.

Seruauntes be obedient vnto youre carnall maisters, wyth feare and tremblinge, in singlenes of youre hertes, as vnto Christe,

And they contynued dayly wyth one accorde in the temple and brake bread in euerye house, and dyd eate their meate together, with gladnes and singlenes of her

theft, coueteousnes, wickednes, deceyte: vncleanenesse and a wicked eye, blasphemy, pryde, folishenes:

But who is blinder, then my seruaunt? Or so deaf, as my messaungers, whom I sent vnto them? For who is so blinde as my people, & they that haue the rule of them?

He that wyll be ritch all to soone, hath an euell eye, and considereth not, that pouertye shall come vpon him.

And the men that were at the doore of the house, they smotte wyth blyndnesse both small and greate: so that they coulde not fynde the doore.

A presumptuous loke, a proude stomacke, and the lanterne of the vngodly is synne.

Wo be vnto them that cal euyll good, and good euyll: which make darckenesse lyghte, & lyghte darckenesse, that make sower swete and swete sower.

Take hede therfore that the lyght whiche is in the, be not darcknes.
