Be not carefull: but in all thinges shewe your petition vnto God in prayer and supplication, wyth geuinge of thankes.

Take hede to your selues, lest youre hertes be ouercome with surfetinge and dronkenes and cares of this worlde: and that that day come not on you vnwares.

and the care of thys worlde & the dysceythfulnes of ryches & the lustes of other thynges, enter in, and choke the worde: and it is made vnfrutefull.

And he spake vnto hys disciples: Therfor I saye vnto you: Take no thoughte for youre lyfe, what ye shal eate, neyther for your body what ye shal put on.

And that whiche fell amonge thornes, are thei which heare, and go forth, and are choked with cares and with ryches, and voluptuouse liuinge, and bringe forth no fruite.

A vaine thing is it to cast out many wordes, but what hath a man els?

It fortuned as they went, that he entred into a certayne toune. And a certayne woman named Martha, receyued hym into her house.

And Martha was combred aboute muche seruynge, and stode and sayed: Mayster doest thou not care, that my syster hath lefte me to mynister alone? Byd her therfore, that she helpe me.

A certayne man was sicke, named Lazarus of Bethania, the toune of Marye and her syster Martha.

Iesus loued Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

There they made hym a supper, & Martha serued: but Lazarus was one of them that sate at the table with hym.
