And thou chylde shalt be called the prophete of the hiest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lorde to prepare his wayes.

Beholde, I wil sende my messaunger, which shall prepare the way before me: & the Lord whome, ye woulde haue, shall sone come to hys temple, yea, euen the messenger of the couenaunt, whome ye longe for. Beholde he commeth, sayeth the Lord of hostes

But yf we shall saye, of men, then feare we the people. For al men counted Iohn that he was a very Prophet.

Ye youre selues are witnesses how that I saide: I am not Christ, but am sent before him.

he it is that cometh after me, which was before me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthy to vnlose.

Wherfore, loue ye your enemyes, do good and lende, lokinge for nothynge againe, and your rewarde shall be greate, and ye shalbe the children of the hyest for he is kinde vnto the vnkinde and to the euyll.

But and yf we shall saye of men, then feare we the people. For all men helde Iohn as a Prophete.

I baptise you in water in token of repentaunce, but he that cometh after me is mightyer then I, whose shues I am not worthy to beare. He shal baptise you with the holy ghost and with fyre:

Beholde, I wyl sende you Elias the Prophet: before the comming of the daye of the greate and fearfull Lorde.

And of Sion it shalbe reported, that he was borne in her, euen the most hyest whych hath buylded her.
