I wyll shewe wonders in heauen aboue, and tokens in the earth beneth: bloude and fyre, and the vapour of smoke.

and great earthquakes shall be in all quarters and honger, and pestilence and fearfull thinges. And great sygnes shall ther be from heauen.

Immediatly after the trybulations of those dayes, shall the sonne be darkened: and the mone shall not gyue hyr lyght, and the starre shal fall from heauen, & the powers of heauen shal moue.

Then began to aryse oute of the cytye, a pyller of smoke. And the Beniamytes loked backe: and beholde the wastynge of the hole cytye began to ascende vp to heauen.

And the kynges of the earth shal bewepe her & wayle ouer her, which haue committed fornicacion with her, & haue lyued wantonly with her, when they shal se the smoke of her burning,

and loked toward Sodome and Gomorra and towarde all the lande of that contre. And as he loked: behold the smoke of the countre arose as it had bene the smoke of a fornace.

& cried, when they saw the smoke of her burninge, sayinge: what citie is lyke vnto this great citie?

Who is thys that commeth out of the wildernesse lyke pylers of smoke as it were a smell of Myrre, franckencence and al maner spyces of the Apotecary?

And the apoyntmente of the men of Israell wyth the layers in wayte to runne vpon Beniamin wyth the swerde, was when they shoulde make the smoke ryse vp oute of the cytye.

And when the men of Ai loked backe after them and sawe, Beholde, the smoke of the cytye ascended vp to heauen. And they had no place to flee either this waye or that, for the people that fleed to the wyldernesse turned backe againe vpon the folowers.

The fyrste angel blewe, and these was made hayle and fyre, whiche were myngled wyth bloude, and they were cast into the earth, and the thyrde parte of the trees was burnte, and al grene grasse was brente.

And therfore let the earth mourne and let the heauen be sory aboue: for the thing that I haue purposed and taken vpon me to do, shall not repente me, and I wil not go from it.

In that day shal it not be light; but could & frost.
