Alas for this daye, whiche is so dredefull, that none maye be lykened vnto it: and alas for the tyme of Iacobs trouble, from the whiche he shall yet be delyuered.
The Lorde shall shewe his voyce before hys hoste, for hys hoste is greate, strong and myghtye to fulfyll hys commaundement. This is that greate and merueylous fearefull daye of the Lorde: And who is able to abyde it.
So shall this daye be vnto the Lorde God of Hostes, a day of vengeaunce, that he maye avenge him of his enemies. The swearde shall deuoure, it shalbe satisfyed and bathed in their bloud For the Lorde God of Hostes shall haue a slayne offeringe towarde the North, by the water of Euphrates.
For the daye of the Lord is harde by vpon all the Heathen. Lyke as thou hast done, so shalt thou be dealte wythall, yee thou shalt be rewarded euen vpon thyne head.
Be styll at the presence of the Lorde God, for the daye of the Lorde is at hande: yea the Lorde hath prepareth a slayne offerynge, and called hys gestes therto.
