These are the Sermons of Ieremy the sonne of Helkiah the prieste, one of them that dwelt at Anathoth in the land of Beniamin:

At the same tyme came the worde of the Lord vnto Ezechiel the sonne of Buzi the Preste, in the lande of the Caldees by the water of Cubar, where the hande of the Lorde came vpon hym.

The Lord therfore spake thus of the citezyns of Anothoth, that sought to slaye me, sayenge: Preache not vnto vs in the name of the Lord, or els thou shalt dye of oure handes.

Vpon this sent Amasiah the prest to Bethell vnto Ieroboam the kynge of Israel, sayinge: Amos maketh the house of Israel to rebell agaynst the, the lande can not awaye with his wordes.

These are the sermons that were shewed vnto Amos (whiche was one of the shepeherdes at Thecua) vpon Israel, in the tyme of Osiah kynge of Iuda, and in the tyme of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioah kynge of Israel, two yeare before the earthquake.

The prophecye of Esai the sonne of Amos, whiche he shewed vpon Iuda & Ierusalem: In the tyme of Oziah, Ioatham, Ahaz, and Iehezekiah Kynges of Iuda.

Moreouer this is the word that was opened vnto Esay the sonne of Amoz, vpon Iuda & Ierusalem.

Then was fulfylled that which was spoken by the prophete Ieremy sayinge:

They sayde: some saye that thou arte Ihon Baptist, some Helyas, som Ieremias, or one of the Prophetes.

Then was fulfylled that which was spoken by Ieremy the Prophete saying: and they toke thyrty syluer plates the pryce of hym that was valewed, whom they bought of the chyldren of Israell.

And vnto Abiathar the pryest sayde the kynge: get the to Anatoth vnto thyne owne feldes for thou art worthy of death, but I will not at this tyme kyl the, because thou barest the Arcke of the Lorde Iehouah before Dauid my father, and because thou sufferedst wt my father in al hys afflyccyons.

And Ieremiah lamented Iosiah, and all syngynge men and singing wemen speake of Iosiah to this day, & made it an ordinaunce in Israell: and they be written in lamentacions.

And he dyd that displeased the Lord his God, & humbled not him selfe before Ieremiah the prophete at the mouth of the Lorde.

In the fyrste yeare of Cyrus king of Persia (that the word of the lord spoken by the mouth of Ieremy mighte be fulfylled) the Lord stered vp the sprete of Cyrus kynge of Persia, that he caused it be proclamed thorowout al his empyre, ye and by wrytinge also, saying:

The voyce of the noyse of thy horses (O doughter Gallim) shalbe hearde vnto Lais and to Anathoth, which also shalbe in trouble.

How happeneth it then, that thou haste not reproued Ieremye of Anathoth, whiche neuer leaueth of hys prophecyenge,

yea euen in the fyrst yeare of his raygne, I Daniel desyred to knowe the yearly nombre oute of the bokes, whereof the Lorde spake vnto Ieremye the Prophete: that Ierusalem shoulde lye waste .lxx. yeares:

the men of Anathoth, an hundred, and eight and twenty:

These are the wordes, that the Lorde shewed vnto Ieremye, sayenge:

Ieremy went out of Ierusalem, towarde the lande of BenIamin to do certayne busines there amonge the people.
