Beholde the hyre of the labourers which haue reped doun your fieldes (which hyer is of you kept backe by fraude) crieth: & the cryes of them whiche haue reped, are entred into the eares of the Lorde Sabaoth

Thou shal not begyle thy neyghbour wyth cauyllacions, nether robbe him violently, nether shall the workmans laboure abyde with the vntyl the mornyng.

Wo worth him, that buyldeth hys house with vnrightuousnes, and hys parlers with the good that he hath gotten by violence: which neuer recompenseth hys neyghbours laboure, ner payeth hym his hyre.

And why? he maketh inquisicion for their bloude, and remembreth theym: he forgetteth not th complaynte of the poore.

In so muche that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto hym, and nowe he heareth the complaynte of suche as are in necessite.

Nowe therfore behold, the complaynt of the chyldren of Israel is come vnto me, and I haue also sene the oppression wherwyth the Egyptians oppresse them.

And he sayde: What hast thou done? The voyce of thy brothers bloude cryeth vnto me oute of the erth.

Ye maisters do vnto your seruauntes, that which is iuste and equall, sayng: ye know that ye also haue a maister in heauen.

so that the very stones of the wall shall crye oute of it, and the tymbre that lyeth betwixte the ioyntes of the buyldynge shal aunswere.

As for the vyneyarde of the Lorde of Hostes it is the house of Israel, & whole Iuda hys fayre plantynge. Of these he loked for equyte, but se there is wronge: for rightuousnesse, lo, It is but miserye.

And excepte the Lord of hostes had lefte vs a fewe alyue: we shulde haue ben as Sodoma, and lyke vnto Gomorra.

And beware that there be not a poynt of Belial in thine hert, that thou wouldest say. The seuenth yere, the yere of fredome is at hand, & therfore it greues the to loke on thy poore brother and geuest hym nought & he then cry vnto the Lord againste the, and it be synne vnto the:

The Lorde of Hostes roundeth me thus in myne eare: shall not many greater and more gorgyous houses be so waste, that no man shall dwell in them?

Then sayde he to his disciples: the herueste is greate, but the labourers are fewe.

For lyke as a bonde seruaunt desyreth the shadowe, and as an hyrelynge woulde fayne haue an ende of hys worcke:
