Submytte your selues to God, and resiste the deuyl, and he wyll flye from you.

Submit youre selues therfore vnder the myghty hande of God, that he maye exalte you, when the tyme is come.

Moreouer seynge we had fathers of oure fleshe whiche corrected vs, and we gaue them reuerence: shoulde we not muche rather be in subieccyon vnto the father of spyrytuall gyftes, that we myght lyue?

For they are ignoraunte of the ryghteousnes whiche is alowed before God, and go aboute to stablish theyr owne ryghtuousnes, and therfore are not obediente vnto the ryghtuousnes whiche is of valoure before God.

Saye vnto God: O howe wonderful are thy worckes? thorowe the greatenesse of thy power shall thine enemyes be confounded.

and sayde: Naked came I out of my mothers wombe, & naked shall I turne thether agayne. The Lorde gaue, and the Lord hath taken awaye now blessed be the name of the Lorde.

Wherfore be not styffenecked lyke vnto youre fathers, but yelde youre selues vnto the Lord, & come to hys holye place whiche he hath sanctified for euer, and serue the Lord youre God, that hys wrath maye turne from you.

Take my yocke on you and learne of me, for I am meke and lowly in herte: and ye shall fynde reste vnto your soules.

submittinge your selues one to another in the feare of God.

Submyt youre selues vnto all maner ordinaunce of man for the Lordes sake, whether it be vnto the kynge as vnto the chiefe heade:

But and yf the Lorde thus say: I haue no luste vnto the. Beholde, here am I, let hym do wyth me what semeth best in hys eyes.

Thou shalte be caste oute from men, & thy dwellyng shalbe with the beastes of the feld: with grasse shalte thou be fed lyke an oxe. Thou must be wet with the dewe of the heauen, yea seuen yeares shall come, and go vpon the, tyll thou know, that the hyest hath power vpon the kingedomes of men, & geueth them to whome he lyst.

Reproue the beastes amonge the reedes, the heape of bulles with the calues: those that dryue for money. Oh scatre the people that delite in battaile.

And Samuell tolde him euery whit, & hyd it not from him. And he answered: it is the Lord, let him do what semeth him best.

Tell the kynge and the rulers: Humble youre selues, sett you downe lowe, for the crowne of youre glory shall fall from your head.

For it is wrytten: as truelye as I lyue sayth the Lorde: all knees shall bowe to me, and all tonges shall geue a knowledge to God.

Wherfore kynge Agrippa I was not disobedient vnto the heauenly vision:

And he both tremblinge and astonied sayde: Lorde what wylt thou haue me to do? And the Lorde sayde vnto hym: aryse, and go into the cytye, and it shal be tolde what thou shalt do.

thou shalte be cast oute of mens companye: thy dwelling shalbe with the beastes of the felde, so that thou shalte eate grasse lyke as an oxe, tyll seuen yeares be come & gone ouer the: euen vntill thou knoweste, that the hyest hath power vpon the kyngdoms of men, and that he may geue them, vnto whom it pleaseth hym.

For thys cause take vnto you the armoure of God, that ye maye be able to resiste in the euyl daye, and stande perfect in al thinges.
