So then as concernyng the conuersacyon in tyme past, laye from you that olde man, whyche is corrupte thorowe the deceyueable lustes

But those thynges, whiche procede out of the mouthe, come from the hert and they defyle the man.

but exhorte one another dayly, whyle it is called to daye, leste anye of you wexe harde herted thorowe the deceythfulnesse of synne.

The kepyng of dust, and folishnesse of herte hath turned them asyde: so that none of them can haue a fre conscience to thyncke maye not I erre?

Was that then whiche is good, made death vnto me? God forbid. Naye, synne was death vnto me, that yt might appere, howe that synne by the meanes of that which is good, had wrought death in me: that sinne which is vnder the commaundemente, myghte be out of measure synfull.

Kepe thyne herte wyth all dilygence, for there vpon hangeth lyfe.

But I saye vnto you, that whosoeuer loketh on a wife, lustinge after her, hath committed adulterye with her alredy in his herte

for synne toke occasion by the meanes of the commaundement and so disceyued me, and by the selfe commaundemente slewe me.

Hath my hert medled priuely wt any disceyte? Or dyd I euer kisse mine owne hande?

Yf my hert hath lusted after my neyghboures wyfe, or yf I haue layd wayte at his dore.

These are the thynges which defyle a man. But to eate wt vnwashen handes, defileth not a man.

And whan the Lord saw that the wekednesse of man was encreased vpon the erth, & that al the ymaginacion & thoughtes of his hert was only euell contynually,

And the Lorde smelled a swete sauour, & sayd in his hert: I wyll henceforth no more cursse the earthe for mans sake, for the imagination of mans herte is euyll, euen from the very youth of him. Moreouer I wyl not destroy from henceforthe all that lyueth as I haue done.

O Israel, thou doest but destroye thy selfe, in me onely is thy helpe.

And the woman saw that it was a good tree to eate of, and lusty vnto the eies, & a pleasant tree forto geue vnderstandynge. And toke of the frute of it & ate, & gaue vnto her husband also wt her, & he ate.

And Dauid sente messengers and fet her, and she came vnto hym, & he laye with her. And she was straight waye puryfyed from her vnclennesse, & returned vnto her house.

Then was Iesus led away of the spirite into wildernes, to be tempted of the deuyll.

Let no man saye when he is tempted, that he is tempted of God. For god tempteth not vnto euyl, neyther tempteth he any man:

Then when luste hath conceyued, she bringeth forth sinne, & sinne when it is fynyshed bryngeth forthe death.
