As for youre mother, ye shal chyde with her, & reproue her, for she is not my wyfe, neyther am I her husbande, vnlesse she put awaye her whordom out of my syght, and her aduoutry from her brestes.

I wyll make their wyddowes mo in nombre, then the sandes of the sea. Vpon the mothers of their chyldren, I shall brynge a destroyer in the noone daye. Sodenlye & vnawarres, shall I sende a feare vpon their cyties.

But Hierusalem, whiche is aboue, is fre, whiche is the mother of vs all.

And then (saieth the lord of hostes) I will destroye the names of Idols out of the land: so that they shal nomore be put in remembraunce. As for the false prophetes also & the vnclene spirit, I shal take them out of the land:

Youre mothers shalbe sore confounded, and they that bare you, shall come to shame. She shall be the leaste set by amonge the nacions, voyde, waste, and dryed vp.

My herte breaketh in my bodye because of the false prophetes, all my bones shake: I am become lyke a droncken man (that by the reason of wyne can take no reste) for verye feare of the Lorde, and of hys holy wordes:

Thus sayeth the Lorde: Where is the byll of your mothers deuorcement, that I sente vnto her or who is the vsurer, to whome I solde you? Beholde, for youre owne offences are ye solde: & because of youre transgression, is youre mother forsaken.

Thou sonne of man, these men beare theyr Idols in their hertes, and go purposly vpon the stomblynge block of their owne wyckednesse: how darre they then aske councell at me?

Their mother hath broken their wedlocke, and she that bare them, is come to confusyon. For she sayd: I will go after my louers, that geue me my water and bread, my woll and flax, my oyle and my drincke.

But the pryde of Israell will be rewarded him in his fate, yea bothe Israel & Ephraim shal fal for their wyckednesse, and Iuda with them also.
