And the man Micah had a chapel of Gods, and made an Ephod and Images, & fylled the hand of one of his sonnes, which became his priest.

And he went oute agaynste Asa, and sayd to hym: heare me Asa and al Iuda and Beniamin. The Lorde is wyth you, while ye be wyth hym, and yf ye shall seke hym, he wylbe founde of you: but and yf ye shal forsake him, he wil forsake you.

Laban was gone to shere his shepe, & Rahel had stolen hir fathers images.

For yf we synne wyllyngly after that we haue receyued the knowledge of the trueth, ther remayneth no more sacryfyce for synnes,

And from the time forth that the dayly offeringe shalbe put doune & the abhominable desolacyon set vp, there shalbe a thousande two hundreth & .xc. dayes.

And Gedeon made an Ephod therof, & put it in hys cytye Ephrah. And all Israell went a whoring after hym there, whiche thyng was the ruyne of Gedeons house.

These are the garmentes whyche they shal make: a brestlapp Ephod, a tunycle, a strayte cote, a myter and a gyrdell. And they shall make holye garmentes for Aaron thy brother and his sonnes that he maye mynynister vnto me.

& as for the thinge, that ye go aboute, it shall not come to passe, where as ye saye: we wil be as the heathen, & do as other people in the lande, wood and stone wyl we worshippe.

And therto workers wyth spyrytes, sothsayers, ymages of witchcrafte, ydoles, and al other abhomynacyons that were spyed in the lande of Iuda and in Ierusalem, Iosiah put out of the waye, to make good the wordes of the law, whyche were wrytten in the boke that Helkiah the prieste founde in the house of the Lorde:

And Dauid daunsed before the Lorde wyth all hys myght in a lynnen Ephod gyrde vnto hym.

& said to Abiathar the priest Ahimelechs sonne: bryng me the Ephod. And Abiathar brought the Ephod to Dauid.

And it chaunced when Abiathar the sonne of Ahimelech fled to Dauid to Keilah, that he brought an Ephod in hys hande.

Then saide the kinge to Doeg: turne thou and smyte the pryestes. And Doeg the Edomite turned and ranne vpon the priestes and slue that same daye foure skore and fyue persones that dyd weare eche man a lynnen Ephod.

Then the priest answered: the swerde of Goliath the Philistine whom thou sluest in Ocdale, that is here wrapt in a cloth behynde the Ephod. Yf thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no nother saue that here. And Dauid sayde: there is none to that, geue it me.

And Ahiah the sonne of Ahitob Iehabodes brother, the sonne of Phinehes, the sonne of Eli, was the Lordes priest in Siloh & bare an Ephod. But the people wyst not that Ionathas was gone.

But the ladde Samuel mynystred before the Lord gyrded about wyth a lynen Ephod.

& put vpon him the albe & gyrded hym wyth a gyrdle, & put vpon hym the tunicle, & put the Ephod theron, and gyrded hym with the brodered gyrdle of the Ephod, and bound it vnto hym therwt.

The sceptre shal not departe from Iuda, nor a ruelar from betwene hys legges, vntyll Sylo come, vnto whome the people shal hark

And Rahel toke the Images & put them in the camels strawe & sate downe vpon them. And Laban searched all the tente but found them not.

Then answered the fyue men that wente to spye oute the countreye of Lais, and sayd vnto their brethren: wot ye not that there is in these houses an Ephod and Images, and a grauen Image of metall? Nowe therfore consydre what ye haue to do.

For rebellyousnesse is as the synne of witchcrafte, & stoburnesse is wyckednesse and Idolatrye. Because therfore thou hast cast awaye the worde of the Lorde, therfore hath the Lorde caste awaye the also, from beynge Kynge.

Teth. Her portes are casten downe to the grounde, her barres are broken and smytten in sonder: her kynge & prynces are caried awaye to the Gentyles. They haue nether lawe ner Prophetes, ner yet eny visyon from the Lorde.

Where are thy kinges now, that shoulde helpe the in all thy cyties? Yea, and thy iudges, of whom thou saydest: geue me a kynge and prynces?

For vayne is the answere of Idols. The sothsayers se lyes, & tel but vayn dreames: the comforthe that they geue, is nothinge worth. Therfore go they astraye lyke a flocke of shepe, & are troubled, because they haue no sheperde.

And they shall make the Ephod of golde, iacincte, scarlet, purpull and whyte twined bysse with brothered worke.

And there is a fyre gone out of her stalckes, which hath brent vp her braunches and her frute: so that she hath no mo stronge stalckes, to be staues for offycers. This is a pyteous and miserable thynge.

and pour my indignacion vpon the and will blowe vpon the in the fyre of my wrath, and delyuer the vnto cruell people, whych are learned to destroye.
