Then sayde the Lorde to me: Go yet thy waye, & vowe an aduouterous woman, whom thy neyghboure loueth, as the Lord doeth the children of Israell: how be it they haue respecte to straunge Goddes, and loue the wine kannes.

Therfore stomblest thou in the day tyme & the prophet wt the in the night. I wil bringe thy mother to silence, & why?

As for youre mother, ye shal chyde with her, & reproue her, for she is not my wyfe, neyther am I her husbande, vnlesse she put awaye her whordom out of my syght, and her aduoutry from her brestes.

For as manye cytyes as thou haste, O Iuda, so many Goddes haste thou also: And loke how many stretes there be in the (O Ierusalem) so manye shamefull aulters haue ye set vp, to offre vpon them vnto Baal.

I haue euer broken thy yocke of olde, and burste thy bondes: yet sayest thou: I wil nomore serue, but (lyke an harlot) thou runnest aboute vpon all hye hilles, and amonge all grene trees,

Thus sayeth the Lorde: Where is the byll of your mothers deuorcement, that I sente vnto her or who is the vsurer, to whome I solde you? Beholde, for youre owne offences are ye solde: & because of youre transgression, is youre mother forsaken.

Then the Lordes of the Philistines gathered them together, for to offer a solempne offringe vnto Dagon their God, and to reioice: for they sayd, our God hath deliuered Samson oure enemie into oure handes.

First when the Lorde spake vnto Oseas, he sayde vnto him: Go thy waye, take an harlot to thy wyfe, and get chyldren by her: for the lande hath committed greate whordome agaynst the Lorde.

Amende the (O Ierusalem) leste I withdrawe my herte from the, and make the desolate: & thy lande also, that no man dwell in it.

And yf thou woldest saye then in thyne herte: Wherfore come these thinges vpon me? Euen for the multitude of thy blasphemyes, shall thy hinder partes and thy fete be discouered.

In the daye of thy byrthe, when thou waste borne, the strynge of thy nauel was not cut of: thou wast not bathed in water to make the cleane: Thou wast neyther robbed with salt, nor swedled in cloutes:

Therfore heare the worde of the Lorde O thou harlot:

I will geue the ouer into their power, that shal breake doune thy stewes, and destroye thy brodel houses, they shall stryppe the oute of thy clothes, al thy fayre and beutyfull Iewels shall they take from the, and so let the syt naked and bare:

In that tyme, shall the fayre virgins and the yonge men perysh for thyrst,
