And the Lorde smelled a swete sauour, & sayd in his hert: I wyll henceforth no more cursse the earthe for mans sake, for the imagination of mans herte is euyll, euen from the very youth of him. Moreouer I wyl not destroy from henceforthe all that lyueth as I haue done.

But let hym wash the inwardes and the legges wyth water, and than brynge all together and burne it vpon the alter: that is a burntoffryng and a sacrifyce of swete sauour vnto the Lorde.

for there is not one iuste vpon earth, that doth good, and synneth not.

But the inwardes and the legges shey shall wash in water, and the preast shal burne altogether vpon the alter, that it be a burntsacrifyce & an offring of a swete odoure vnto the Lord.

And vnto Adam he sayd: For as moch as thou hast obeyed the voyce of thy wyfe, and hast eaten of the tree of which I commaunded the, sayinge: Se thou eate not therof: curssed be the erth for thy sake. In sorow shalt thou eate therof all dayes of thy lyfe:

That whyche is borne of the fleshe is fleshe: and that whiche is borne of the spyryte, is spyrite.

As for vs, we go all astraye (lyke shepe) euery one turneth hys owne waye. But thorow hym, the Lorde pardoneth all oure synnes.

The vngodly are froward, euen from their mothers wombe: as soone as they be borne, they go a stray and speake lyes.

Beholde, I was borne in wickednesse, & in synne hath my mother conceyued me.

We knowe that we are of God, and that the world is altogether set on wyckednes.

in as muche as when they knewe God, they glorifyed him not as God, neither were thankful, but waxed full of vanities in theyr Imaginations, and their folishe hertes were blinded.

Who can saye: my herte is cleane, I am innocent from sinne?

and burne the hole ram vpon the alter. For it is a burnt offeryng vnto the Lorde, and a swete sauoure of the Lordes sacryfyce.

For behold, I wyll bryng in a floud of water vpon the erth to destroye al flesh from vnder heauen, wherin breth of lyf is: so that all that is in the erth shal perysh.

For I haue loked, & consydered: but there is no man that speaketh a good worde: there is no man that taketh repentaunce for hys synne, that wyll so muche as saye: wherfore haue I done thys? But euerye man (as sone as he is turned backe) runneth forth styl, lyke a wylde horse in a battayle.

Beholde it is written before my face and shal not be forgotten, but recompenced. I shall rewarde it them in their bosome.

Moreouer there be some whereof thou haste neyther hearde nor knowne, neyther haue they ben opened vnto thyne eares afore tyme. For I knew that thou woldest maliciously offende, therfor haue I called the a transgressoure, euen from thy mothers wombe.

and shall take away al his fatt as the fatt of the peaceofferynges is taken awaye. And the priest shall burne it vpon the alter for a swete sauoure vnto the Lorde, and the prieste shall make an atonement for hym, & it shalbe forgeuen hym.

And then Moses toke theym from of theyr handes agayne, and burnte theym vpon the aulter, euen vpon the burnt offeryng: These are the fulofferynges of a swete sauoure & a sacrifice vnto the Lorde.

& wyl offre an offering vpon the fyre vnto the Lord, whether it be a burntofferyng or a specyall vowe or frewyllofferyng or yf it be in your pryncipall feastes to make a swete sauoure vnto the Lorde, of the oxen or of the flocke.

Now heare therfore (my lord king) the wordes of thy seruaunt Yf the lorde haue stered the vp against me, he shal smel the sauoure of sacryfyce. But & yf they be the children of men, cursed be they before the Lorde. For they haue cast me out from abyding in the enheritaunce of the Lorde, saying: hence & go serue other Goddes.

They are as furyous as the serpent, euen lyke the deaf Ader that stoppeth her eares.
