Genesis 7:4

Matthew's Bible 1537

For seuen dayes hence wil I sende rayne vpon the erth .xl. dayes and .xl. nyghtes, and wyll destroy al maner of thynges that I haue made, from of the face of the erth.

And the floud came .xl. dayes and .xl. nyghtes vpon the erth, & the water increased & bare vp the arcke, & it was lyfte vp from of the erth.

& there fel a rayne vpon the erth .xl. dayes & .xl. nyghtes.

For behold, I wyll bryng in a floud of water vpon the erth to destroye al flesh from vnder heauen, wherin breth of lyf is: so that all that is in the erth shal perysh.

Than sayde God to Noe: the ende of all flesh is come before me, for the erth is full of their myschefe. And lo, I wyl destroye them with the erth.

And sayd: I wyl destroy mankynde whych I haue made, from of the face of the erth: both man, beast, worme and foule of the ayre, for it repenteth me that I haue made them.

Let them be wyped out of the boke of the lyuynge, and not be wrytten amonge the ryghtuous.

He that ouercommeth, shalbe clothed in whyte araye, and I wyll not put out hys name out of the boke of lyfe, and I wyll confesse his name before my father, and before his angels.

When here were but thre monethes vnto the haruest I wythhelde the rayne from you: yea I rayned vpon one cytye, and not vpon another, one pece of grounde was moystured wyth rayne, and the grounde that I rayned not vpon was drye.

When he weyed the windes, & measured the waters

bothe olde and young, whose foundacyon is a runninge water,

And he taried yet seuen other dayes, and sent forth the doue, whyche from thence forth came no more agayne to hym.

And the seuenth day the waters of the floude came vpon the erth.

And he abode yet seuen daies more, & sent out the doue agayne oute of the arcke,

And the Lorde sayde: My spirite shall not alway striue wyth man, for they are flesh. Neuerthelesse I wyl geue them yet space, an .C. & .xx. yeres.

and all the shrubbes of the felde before they were in the erth. And al the herbes of the felde before they sprange, for the Lord God had yet sent no rayne vpon the erth, nether was there yet any man to tylle the erth.

lykewyse of the byrdes of the ayre seuen of euery kynde, male and female to saue seed vpon all the erth.

& the fountaynes of the depe & the wyndowes of heauen were stopte, & the rayne of heauen was forbydden,

And therfore thus sayth the Lorde: beholde, I wyll sende the out of the land, & within a year thou shalte dye because thou haste falsely spoken agaynste the Lord.
