Now therfore, thy two sonnes Manasses & Ephraim, which were borne vnto the before I came to the, into Egypte, shalbe myne: euen as Ruben and Symeon shal they be vnto me.

For the chyldren of Ioseph were two trybes, Manasses and Ephraim. And therfore they gaue no parte vnto the Leuites in the lande, saue cyties to dwelle in, and the suburbes of the same, for their beastes & cattel

And vnto Ioseph in the lande of Egypte were borne: Manasses and Ephraim whiche Asnath the daughter of Putiphar prest of On bare vnto hym.

and wyll be a father vnto you, and ye shall be vnto me sonnes and doughters, sayth the Lorde almyghtye.

Nowe therfore deuyde thys land to enherete, vnto the nyne trybes, and the halfe trybe of Manasses.

But now, the Lorde that made the O Iacob, & he that fashyoned the O Israel, sayeth thus: Feare not, for I wyll defende the. I haue called the by name thou art myne owne.

Amonge the chyldren of Ioseph: of Ephraim, Elisama the sonne of Amihud: of Manasse, Gamaliel the sonne of Pedazur:

Be holy vnto me, for I the Lorde am holy and haue seuered you from other nacions: that ye shuld be myne.

By fayth Iacob when he was a diynge, blessed both the sonnes of Ioseph, and bowed hym self towarde the top of hys cepter.

After these deades, tydynges were brought vnto Ioseph, that his father was sycke. And he toke with him his two sonnes, Manasses & Ephraim.

And the children which thou getest after them, shalbe thyne owne: but shalbe called wyth the names of their brethren in their inheritaunces.

Thus sayeth the Lorde God: Let this be the border wherin ye shall deuyde the lande vnto the .xij. tribes of Israell, wyth the lyne.

The waters saw the, O God, the waters sawe the, & were afrayed, the deapthes were moued.
