& wyl multiply thy sede as the stars of heauen, & will gyue vnto thy sede al these contries. And thorow thi sede shal all the nacions of the earth be blessed,

Ye are the chyldren of the prophetes and of the couenaunt, which God hath made vnto our fathers saiynge to Abraham: Euen in thy sede shall all the kynredes of the earthe be blessed.

For the scripture sawe afore hand, that God woulde iustifye the heathen thorow fayth, & therfore shewed before hand glad tydynges vnto Abraham. In the shall all nacyons be blessed.

And he brought him out of the dores, & sayd: loke vp vnto heauen, & tel the stars, if thou be able to numbre them. And said vnto hym: Euen so shal thy sede be.

Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel thy seruauntes, to whom thou sworest by thyne owne selfe & saidest vnto them. I wyll multiplye youre seed as the starres of heauen, and all thys lande which I haue sayd, I wyll geue vnto youre seede: and they shal enheret it for euer

And I wyll make thy sede, as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can numbre the duste of the earth, then shall thy sede also be numbred.

To Abraham and hys seede were the promyses made. He sayth not in the sedes as in manye: but in thy sede as in one, whiche is Christe.

Hys name shal endure for euer, his name shall remayne vnder the sunne amonge the posterites, which shalbe blessed thorow him and all the Heathen shall prayse hym.

By it the elders were wel reported of.

seynge that Abraham shal be a great & a myghtie people, & all the nacions of the erth shalbe blessed in him?

And that same daye the Lorde made a couenaunte with Abram sayinge: vnto thy seed wyl I geue this land, from the riuer of Egypt, euen vnto the greate ryuer Euphrates,

And the Lorde appeared vnto hym the same nyght, & sayd: I am the God of Abraham thy father, feare not for I am wyth the, and wyll blesse the, and multiply thy sede for my seruaunt Abrahams sake.

And God almyghty blesse the, encrease the, and multiply the that thou mayst be a numbre of people,

And thy sede shal be as the dust of the earth: and thou shalt spreade abrode: weste, easte, north, and south. And thorowe the and thy sede shal al the kynreds of the earth be blessed.

And the Land whych I gaue Abraham & Isaac wyl I giue vnto the, & vnto thy sede after the wyl I gyue it also.

And Israel dwelt in Egypte: euen in the countre of Gosan. And they had their possessions therin, and they grewe and multiplyed exceadynglye.

Moreouer I made an appoyntmente wyth them to gyue them the Land of Canaan: the land of theyr pilgrimage wherin thei wer straungers

It is not for thy ryghtuousnes sake & right hert that thou goest to possesse their land: But partely for the wickednesse of these nations, the Lorde thy God doeth caste them before the, and partelye to perfourme that whyche the Lorde thy God sware vnto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Iacob.

And se that there cleaue nought of the dampned thing in thyne hand that the Lord maye turne from his fearce wrathe and shewe the mercye and haue compassion on the, and multiplye the, as he hath sworne vnto thy fathers:

But Dauid toke not the nombre of them vnder .xx. yeare: for the Lord said: he would encrease Israel lyke vnto the starres of the skye.
