and went & sat her out of syghte a great waye, as it were a bow shote of: for she said: I wyl not se the lad dye. And she sat doune out of syghte, and lyfte vp her voyce and wepte.

Doth a wyfe forget the chylde of her wombe, & the sonne whom she hath borne? And though she do forget, yet wyll not I forget the.

Then Dauid & the people that was wt hym lyfte vp their voyces and wept, vntyl they coulde wepe no more.

When Dauid had made an ende of speaking all these wordes to Saul, Saul sayde: is this thy voyce my sonne Dauid? & he lifte vp hys voyce and wepte,

And the Lord geue you, that you maye fynde reast ether of you in the house of her husband: & so she kyssed them. Then they cryed & wepte

And when the Angel of the Lorde had spoken these wordes vnto al the chyldren of Israel, the people cryed oute & wepte.

For howe can I goo vnto my father, and the lad not wyth me: lest I shulde sea the wretchednes that shall come on my father.

And Iacob kissed Rahell, & lyfte vp hys voyce & wepte:

And Esau sayd vnto his father: haste thou but the one blessing my father? blesse me also my father: so lifted vp Esau hys voyce and wept.

When the water was spent that was in the bottel, she cast the lad vnder a bush

And she answered: as surely as the lorde thy God lyueth, I haue no breade, but euen an handfull of mele in a pytcher, and a lytle oyle in a cruse. And se, I haue gathered a few styckes for to go & bake it for my and my sonne, that we maye eate it, and then dye.

Wherfore, gyrde a sack clothe aboute the (O doughter of my people) sprinkle thy selfe wyth ashes, mourne and wepe bytterlye, as vpon thy onely beloued sonne: For the destroyer shall sodenly fall vpon vs.

Youre hye feastes wyll I turne to sorowe, and youre songes to mournynge: I wyll bringe sack cloth vpon al backes, and baldnes vpon euery head: yee soch a mournynge wyll I sende them, as is made vpon an only begotten sonne, and they shall haue a miserable ende.
