Certayne Philosophers of the Epicures and of the Stoickes, disputed with him. And some there were, whiche sayed. What wyll this babler saye? Other said he semeth to be a tydynges brynger of newe deuyls, because he preached vnto them Iesus and the resurreccyon.

Wherfore yf the spirit of him that raysed vp Iesus frome deathe dwell in you, euen he that raysed vp Christe from death shall quicken your mortall bodyes, because that his spirite dwelleth in you.

When the Iewes saw the people, they were ful of indignacyon & spake agaynste those thynges, whiche were spoken of Paule, speakynge agaynst it, and railynge on it.

and euery man in his owne order. The fyrste is Christe, then they that are Christes at his comminge.

that Christe shoulde suffer, and that he shoulde be the fyrste, that shoulde ryse from death, and shoulde shewe lyghte vnto the people, and to the gentyls.

Why should it be thought a thinge vncredible vnto you, that God shoulde raise agayne the dead?

excepte it be for thys one voyce that I cryed standynge amonge them, of the resurreccyon from death, am I iudged of you thys daye.

The same tyme there arose no lytell ado about that way.

Then the chiefe Prieste arose vp & al they that were with hym (which is the seete of the Saduces) and were full of indignacion,

and kylled the Lorde of lyfe, whom god hath raysed from death, of the whiche we are wytnesses.

But when Sanabalat the Horonite and Tobiah the seruaunt of the Ammonites heard that, it greued them sore, that there was come a man which soughte the welth of the chyldren of Israel.
