when before I was a blasphemer and persecuter, and a tyraunte. But I obtayned mercye, because I dyd it ignorauntly thorowe vnbelefe.

And I aunswered: what arte thou Lorde? And he sayde vnto me: I am Iesus of Nazareth whom thou persecutest.

and as concerning feruentnes, I persecuted the congregation, & as touching the ryghtuousnes, whiche is in the lawe, I was vnrebukeable.

For I beare them recorde that they haue a feruent mynde to Godwarde, but not accordynge to knoweledge.

We haue founde thys man a pestylent felowe, and a mouer of debate vnto all the Iewes thoroughout the world, and a mayntayner of the secte of the Nazarites,

Then Paul aunswered and sayd: what do ye wepynge and breakyng myne hert? I am ready not to be bound onelye: but also to dye at Hierusalem for the name of the Lorde Iesus.

For I wil shew hym howe greate thinges he muste suffer for my names sake.

Then sayed Peter: Syluer and gold haue I none, suche as I haue geue I the. In the name of Iesu Christ of Nazareth, ryse vp & walke.

But all these thinges wyll they do vnto you, for my names sake, because they haue not knowen him that sent me.

And nowe brethren I wote well that through ignoraunce ye dyd it, as did also your heades.

And Saul yet breathynge out threatening & slaughter against the Disciples of the Lorde, went vnto the hye priest,

I am verely a man which am a Iewe borne in Tharsus, a citie in Cicil: neuerthelesse yet brought vp in thys citie at the fete of Gamaliel, and informed diligentlye in the lawe of the fathers, and was feruent mynded to godwarde, as ye all are this same day,

and I persecuted thys waye vnto the deathe, byndynge and delyuerynge into pryson both men and women,

Then the men of the cytie sayde vnto Ioas, brynge out thy sonne that he maye dye, because he hath broken the aultare of Baal, & cut doune the groue that was about it.
