Iohn to the .vij. congregacyons in Asia. Grace be wyth you and peace, from hym which is, and whiche was, and whiche is to come, & from the .vij. spyrites which are present before hys throne,

Thys thou knowest howe that all they whiche are in Asia, be turned from me. Of whiche sorte are Phygelos and Hermogenes.

and founde a certayne Iewe named Aquila, borne in Ponthus, latelye come from Italye wyth hys wyfe Priscilla (because that the Emperour Claudius had commaunded all Iewes to depart from Rome) and he drewe vnto them.

When they had gone through oute Phrygia, and the regyon of Galacia, and were forbidden of the holy ghost to preache the worde in Asia

And thys continued by the space of two yeares: so that all they whyche dwelt in Asia, hearde the worde of the Lorde Iesu, both Iewes & Grekes.

Then arose certaine of the Synagoge, whyche are called Lybertines and Syrenites, and of Alexandria, and of Cilicia, and Asia, and disputed with Stephan.

I saw in vision (& when I saw it, I was at Susis in the chefe citie, whyche lyeth in the lande of Elam) and in the vision, me thought I was by the ryuer of Vlai.

At the same tyme shal the Lord take in hande agayne, to conquere the remnaunt of hys people (whiche are left alyue.) From the Assirians, Egypcians, Arabians, Morians, Elamites, Ealdeyes, Antiochiaus, and Ilandes of the sea.

And in the nynthe yeare of Hosea, the kynge of Assyrya toke Samaria & caryed Israel away vnto Assyrya, & put them in Hala, in Habor on the riuer of Gozan, & in the cytyes of the Medes.

And the seruaunt toke .x. camels of the camels of his mayster & departed, & had of all maner goodes of his master with him, & stode vp & went to Mesopotamia, vnto the cytie of Nahor.

And it chaunsed within a while that Amraphel king of Sinear Arioch king of Ellasar, Kedorlaomor king of Elam, & Thideal king of the nations,

saiynge. I am Alpha and Omega, the fyrst and the laste. That thou seest wryte in a boke, and sende it vnto the congregacyons which are in Asia, vnto Ephesus, and vnto Smyrna, & vnto Pergamos, and vnto Sardis, & vnto Phyladelphia, and vnto Laodicia.

Brethren I woulde not haue you ignoraunt of oure trouble, whiche happened vnto vs in Asia. For we were greued out of measure passinge strength, so greatlye that we despeared euen of lyfe.

The congregations of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscylla salute you muche in the Lorde, and so doth the congregation that is in theyr house.

Lykewyse grete all the companye that is in her house. Salute my welbeloued Epenetos, whiche is the fyrst frute amonge them of Achaia.

And when they were come to hym, he sayde vnto them. Ye knowe from the fyrste daye that I came into Asia, after what maner I haue ben with you at al ceasons

for Paule had determyned to leaue Ephesus as they sayled, because he woulde not spende the tyme in Asia. For he hasted to be (yf he coulde possible) at Ierusalem at the daye of Pentecoste.

Certayne also of the chiefe of Asia, whiche were hys frendes, sent vnto him, desiringe hym that he woulde not prease into the commen hall.

So that not onelye thys our craft cometh into pacel to be set at nought: but also that the temple of the great Goddas Diana shoulde be despised, and her magnificence should be destroied, which al Asia, and the world worshyppeth.

The ramme whyche thou sawest with the two hornes, is the kiuge of the Medes and Perses:

Who so may disceyue (said the voyce) let him disceyue. Who so may destroye, let him dystroye. Vp Elam, besege it O Madai, for I wyl styl al their groninges.

So at Egbathanis in a castel that lieth in the lande of the Medes, there was founde a boke, and in it was there an acte wrytten after this maner:

And when the chyldren of Ammon sawe that they stanke in the nose of Dauid, Hanon & the chyldren of Ammon sent a thousand talentes of syluer to hyre them charettes, and horsemen out of Mesopotamia & out Siria Maacah & out of Zobah.

Therfore the Lorde was angrye wyth Israel, and deliuered them into the handes of Chusan Rasathaim Kynge of Mesopotamia. So that the chyldren of Israel serued Chusan Rasathaim .viij. yeares.

because they met you not wyth bread and water in the waye when ye came out of Egypt, & because they hyred agenst the Balaam the sonne of Beor the interpreter of Mesopotamia, to curse the.

And his sonnes were Elam, Assur, Arphachsad, Lud & Aram.

Phares, thy kyngdome is delte in partes, and geuen to the Medes and Perses.

And how heare we euery man his own tounge wherin we were borne?

There accompanyed hym into Asia, Sopater of Berrea, and of Thessalonia Aristarcus and Secundus, & Gaius of Derba, and Timotheus, and out of Asia, Tichycus and Trophimos.

And as the seuen dayes shoulde haue ben ended, the Iewes which were of Asia when they sawe hym in the temple, they moued all the people, and layed handes on hym,

in the whiche they founde me puryfyed in the temple, neyther with multytude, nor yet with vnquyetnes. Howe be it there were certayne Iewes oute of Asia,

And we entred into a ship of Adramicium, and lowsed from land, appointed to saile by the coastes of Asia, one Aristarcus out of Macedonia, of the countrey of Thessalia, beinge with vs.
