And when he had caught hym, he put hym in pryson, & deliuered hym to .iiij. quaternions of soudyers to be kept, entendynge after Easter to bryng hym forth to the people.

And he said vnto him: Lorde I am redye to go with the into prison, and to death.

There are many deuises in a mans hert, neuertheles the counsayll of the Lorde shall stande.

But before all these, they shall laye their handes on you and persecute you, delyueringe you vp to the Synagoges & into pryson, and bringe you before kinges and rulers for my names sake.

for to do whatsoeuer thy hande and thy councell determined before to be done.

And layed handes on them, and putte them in holde vntyll the nexte daie, for it was nowe euen tyde.

And the writtinges were sent by postes into all the kinges landes, to rote out, to kyll, and to destroye all Iewes, both younge and olde, chyldren and wemen in one daye (namely vpon the thyrtenth daye of the twelueth moneth, which is the moneth Adar) & to spoyle theyr goodes.

But Saul made hauoke of the congregacion entring into euery house, and drewe oute bothe man and woman, and thruste them into prysone.

and laied handes on the Apostles, and put them in the commune prison.

Then the souldyers, when they had crucyfyed. Iesus toke hys garmentes, and made foure partes, to euery souldyour a parte, and also hys cote. The cote was withoute seame, wroughte vpon thorow out.

Mem. What is he then that sayeth: there shuld somethynge be done without the Lordes commaundement:

And the lord spake vnto Moses & Aaron in the lande of Egipt saying:

After two dayes folowed easter and the dayes of swete breade. And the hye priestes and the scrybes soughte meanes howe they myght take hym by crafte, and put hym to death.

and because he sawe that it pleased the Iewes he proceaded forther, and toke Peter also. Then were the dayes of swete bread.

Then was Peter kept in pryson. But prayer was made without ceasing of the congregacyon vnto God for hym:
