And when he had caught hym, he put hym in pryson, & deliuered hym to .iiij. quaternions of soudyers to be kept, entendynge after Easter to bryng hym forth to the people.
But before all these, they shall laye their handes on you and persecute you, delyueringe you vp to the Synagoges & into pryson, and bringe you before kinges and rulers for my names sake.
Verelie verelye, I saie vnto the, when thou waste yonge, thou girdest thy selfe, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou arte olde, thou shalt stretche forth thy handes, and another shall gyrd the, and lead the whither thou wouldest not:
And the writtinges were sent by postes into all the kinges landes, to rote out, to kyll, and to destroye all Iewes, both younge and olde, chyldren and wemen in one daye (namely vpon the thyrtenth daye of the twelueth moneth, which is the moneth Adar) & to spoyle theyr goodes.
Then the souldyers, when they had crucyfyed. Iesus toke hys garmentes, and made foure partes, to euery souldyour a parte, and also hys cote. The cote was withoute seame, wroughte vpon thorow out.
After two dayes folowed easter and the dayes of swete breade. And the hye priestes and the scrybes soughte meanes howe they myght take hym by crafte, and put hym to death.
