Now therfore so saye vnto my seruaunt Dauid, thus sayth the Lord of Hostes I toke the out of a shepeherdes cote from folowyng shepe to be a ruler ouer my people Israel.

Then Nathan sayd to Dauid: thou arte the man. Thys sayth the Lorde God of Israel: I annoynted the kynge ouer Israel, & rydde the out of the handes of Saule.

But Dauid sayd agayne to Michol, I wyll make sporte before the Lorde which chose me before thy father & before all hys kynne, commaundynge me to be ruler ouer al hys people Israel.

He reyseth vp the poore out of the duste, and lyfteth vp the begger from the dong hill: to set them among princes, and to enheret them with the seate of glory. For the pyllers of the earth are the Lordes, and he hath set the rounde worlde vpon them.

These be the last saynges of Dauid. Dauid the sonne of Isai said: And the man is lyfte vp on hye; the anointed of the God of Iacob and pleasaunt Psalmist of Israel sayde,

Then spake Dauid vnto the Lorde, when he sawe the Aungel that smote the people, and sayde: lo, it is I that haue synned, and I that haue done wickedly. But these shepe what haue they done? let I praye the thyne hande be on me, and on my fathers house.

And Salomon sayde: thou hast shewed vnto thy seruaunt Dauid my father great mercye accordinge as he walked before the in truthe & in ryghteousnesse & playnesse of herte wyth the. And thou hast kept for hym thys great mercy, that thou hast geuen him a sonne to sit on his seate: as it is come to passe thys daye.

from the daye I brought my people Israel out of Egypte, I chose no cytye among any of the trybes of Israel, to buylde an house, that my name myght be there: But I haue chosen Dauid to be ruler ouer my people Israel.

And Dauid said vnto God: Is it not I that commaunded to nombre the people? And I am he that haue sinned and done euyl in deade. But what haue these shepe done? let thyne hande therfore O Lorde God, be on me and on my fathers house, and not on thy people to destroye them.

And therto in tyme paste when Saul was kyng ouer vs, thou leddest Israel in and oute. And the Lord hath sayd to the: thou shalt fede my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captayne ouer Israel.

And the woman sayde: wherfore then hast thou determined on thys same maner agaynst the people of God? that the kyng shuld speake thys thing and be fautye therein, so that the kynge shulde not fet home agayne hys banyshed.

the Lorde toke me, and sayde vnto me: Go thy waye, and prophecye vnto my people of Israel.
