And when thy dayes be fulfilled and thou layde to rest wyth thy fathers, then I wyll set vp thy sede after the, which shall proceade out of thy bodye, and will stablysh his kingdome.

Therfore seiyng he was a Prophet, and knew that God had sworne wyth an othe to hym, that the fruyte of hys loynes shoulde sit on hys seat (in that Christ shoulde ryse agayne in the flesh)

And the Lorde hath made good hys worde that he spake. For I stode vp in the roume of Dauid my father, and sate on the seate of Israel, as the Lorde promysed, & haue buylt an house for the name of the Lorde God of Israel.

When the dayes of Dauid were draune nye, that he should dye, he charged Salomon his sonne sayinge:

Howbeit Dauid after he had in hys tyme fulfylled the wyll of God, he slepte, and was layde with hys fathers, and sawe corrupcyon.

But when thy dayes be exspyred, that thou must go after thy fathers, I wyll set vp thy seade after the, whiche shalbe of thy sonnes & wyl setle hys kyngedom.

And the Lord sayed vnto Moses: beholde, thou must slepe wyth thy fathers, and thys people wyll go a whoring after straunge Goddes of the land whither they go, and wyl forsake me and breake the appoyntment which I haue made with them.

For yf we beleue that Iesus Christe dyed and rose agayne euen so them also, whyche slepe by Iesus, wyl God brynge agayn with hym.

Beholde I shewe you a mysterye. We shal not al slepe: but we shal al be chaunged,

Then shal the Gentyles enquere after the rote of Iesse (whiche shalbe set vp for a token vnto the Gentyles) for hys dwellinge shalbe glorious.

he shall make no ende to encrease the kyngedome and peace, and shall sytte vpon the seate of Dauid, and in his kyngedome, to set vp the same, to stablyshe it wyth equyte and ryghteousnesse, from thence forth for euermore. This shall the gelousy of the Lorde of hostes brynge to paste.

For elles when my Lorde the Kinge is layd to rest with his fathers, I & my sonne Salomon shalbe synners.

Many of them that slepe in the dust of the earth, shal awake: some to euerlastinge lyfe, some to perpetual shame and reprofe.

Hys sede wyll I make to endure for euer, yea, and his trone as the dayes of heauen.

And behold, the worde of the Lord spake vnto Abram, sayinge: He shall not be thyne heyre, but one that shal come out of thyne own body shalbe thine heire.

Thys is the boke of the generation of Iesus Christ the sonne of dauyd, the sonne also of Abraham.

He shalbe greate, and shalbe called the sonne of the hiest. And the Lorde God shal geue to hym the seat of his father Dauid,

And he began at Moyses, and at all the Prophetes, & interpreted vnto them in all scryptures, which were written of hym.

And last of all thus sayde the kinge: blessed be the Lorde God of Israel whiche hath made one to sytte on my seate thys daye, euen myne eyes seinge it.

That the Lorde maye make good his promesse whiche he hath promised me sayinge: yf thy children shal take heede to their wayes, that they walke before me in truthe, with all their hertes and with al their soules, then thou shalt neuer be without one syttynge on the seate of Israell.

And therfore I am disposed to buylde an house vnto the name of the Lorde my God, as he promysed Dauid my father, saying: thy sonne which I wyl put vpon thy seate for the, he shal buylde an house vnto my name.

And he sayde. Blessed be the Lorde God of Israel, which hath fulfylled wyth hys hande, that he spake wyth hys mouthe vnto Dauid my father sayinge:

Neuerthelesse thou shalt not buylde the house, but thy sonne that shal come out of thy loynes he shal buylde an house for my name.

then I wil stablyshe the seate of thy kyngdome vpon Israell for euer, as I promysed to Dauid thy father, sayinge: Thou shalt not be wythoute one or other vp on the seate of Israell.

Neuerthelather the Lorde wold not destroye Iuda because of Dauid his seruaunt, as he promysed hym to geue hym a lyght in hys chyldren alwaye.

And now Lord god let thy promyse vnto Dauid my father be true. For thou hast made me kynge ouer a people lyke the duste of the earthe in multitude.

Becometh it not you to knowe how that the Lorde God of Israell gaue the kyngedome of Israel to Dauid for euer, euen to him & to his sonnes, with a salted couenaunte.

How be it, the Lord would not destroy the house of Dauid, because of the couenaunt that he had made wt Dauid, & as he promised to geue a light to hym & to hys sonnes for euer.

And all the congregacyon made a bonde wyth the kynge in the house of God. And Iehoiada sayde to them: behold, the kinges sonne must raygne ouer the children of Dauid, as the Lorde hath sayde.

For thy great & manyfolde sauing of thy kyng, & shewynge mercy vnto thyne anointed, euen to Dauid, & his seede for euer.

And so Dauid rested with his fathers, & was buryed in the cytye of Dauid.

Notwithstandyng thou shalt not build the house, but thy sonne whiche shall Issue oute of thy loynes, he shall buyld an house for my name.

Which hast kepte with Dauid my father that thou promysedest him: thou saydeste it wyth thy mouthe, and haste fulfylled it with thyne hande, as it is to se this day.

For thus the Lorde promyseth: Dauid shal neuer want one, to syt vpon the stole of the house of Israell:
