And so all the elders of Israell came to the kynge to Hebron. And Kynge Dauid made a couenaunt wyth them in Hebron before the Lord. And they anoynted Dauid Kynge ouer Israell.
And the men of Iuda came and there anoynted Dauid kynge ouer the house of Iuda. When it was tolde Dauid, howe the men of Iabes in Galaad had buryed Saule,
And Samuel toke the horne with the oyntment and annoynted him in the presens of hys brethren. And the spryte of the Lord came vpon Dauid, from that daye forwarde. And Samuel rose vp and went to Ramath.
And Iehoiada made a bonde both betwene the Lorde and the kynge, & betwene the people and the Lorde, that they shulde be the Lordes people: & also betwene the kynge and the people.
Then Abner sayde vnto Dauid. I wyll vp and go gather all Israel vnto my Lorde the kynge, that they maye make an appoyntment wyth the, that thou mayest be kyng ouer all that thyne hert desyreth. And so Dauid let Abner depart and he went in peace.
And when al the elders of Israel were come to the kynge to Hebron, Dauid made a couenaunt with them there before the Lorde. And they annoynted Dauid king ouer Israell, accordynge to the worde of the Lorde by the hand of Samuel.
And the people went to Galgal & made Saul kyng there, before the Lorde in Galgal. And there they offered peace offerynges before the Lorde. And there Saul and all the people reioysed excedinglye.
Goo therfore & gather the elders of Israell togyther, & say vnto them: the Lorde God of youre fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob appeared vnto me, and sayed. I haue bene and sene both you and that which is done to you in Egypte.
And let Sadock the pryest and Nathan the prophet anoynte hym there, to be kynge ouer Israel. And then blowe ye with a trompet and saye: God saue kinge Salomon.
And now let your handes stere them & playe ye the men, though your mayster Saule be deade. And finallye vnderstande that the house of Iuda haue anointed me kyng ouer them.
Moreouer the Lorde God of Israel chose me of all the house of my father, to be kyng ouer Israel for euer, for he chose Iuda to be a capytayne: & in the house of Iuda, the house of my father, and of the sonnes of my father he had a luste to me, to make me kynge ouer all Israel.
