Then Nathan sayd to Dauid: thou arte the man. Thys sayth the Lorde God of Israel: I annoynted the kynge ouer Israel, & rydde the out of the handes of Saule.

And Iesus went forth and sawe muche people, & hys herte did melte vpon them, & he healed of theim those that were sicke.

And Samuel toke the horne with the oyntment and annoynted him in the presens of hys brethren. And the spryte of the Lord came vpon Dauid, from that daye forwarde. And Samuel rose vp and went to Ramath.

And Dauid spake the wordes of this songe vnto the Lord, what tyme the Lorde delyuered hym out of the handes of al his enemies, & out of the handes of Saul.

And he sayde vnto the kinge: thus sayeth the Lorde: because thou hast let go a man, that ought to haue dyed, thy lyfe shal go for his lyfe, and thy people for hys.

And he sayde: it is not I that trouble Israel, but thou and thy fathers house, in that ye haue forsaken the commaundementes of the Lord, and hast folowed Baal.

And delyuereth me from myne enemies, thou lyftest me vp on hye from them that ryse against me, & delyuerest me from the wycked men.

Now therfore so saye vnto my seruaunt Dauid, thus sayth the Lord of Hostes I toke the out of a shepeherdes cote from folowyng shepe to be a ruler ouer my people Israel.

And Dauid abode in the wyldernesse in stronge holdes, and in mountayne in the wyldernesse of Ziph. And Saul sought hym all hys lyfe, but God delyuered hym not into hys hande.

And it was tolde Saul, that Dauid was come to Keilah. Then sayde Saul: God hath delyuered hym into my hand. For he is shut in, that he is come into a towne wyth gates & barres.

And he sayde: I wyll geue hym her that she maye be a snare to hym, to bringe the hande of the Philistines vpon hym. And Saul sayde to Dauid: thou shalt thys daye be my sonne in lawe agayne.

And Samuel sayde when thou waste lytle in thyne owne sighte, wast thou not made the head of the trybes of Israell? And the Lorde anoynted the Kynge ouer Israel.

Then sayde Samuel to Saul, thou hast done folyshly & hast not kept the commaundement of the Lorde thy God whiche he commaunded the. For at thys tyme wolde the Lord haue stablished thy kyngdom vpon Israel for euer.

To the chaunter of Dauid, seruaunt of the Lorde, whiche sayde vnto the Lorde the woordes of thys songe, on the daye in which the Lorde delyuered hym from the hande of all hys enemyes, and from the hande of Saul, and sayde. I wyll loue the (O Lorde) my strength.

And Saul had a speare in hys hand, and hourlde it entendyng to haue nayled Dauid to the walle. But Dauid auoyded out of hys presence two times.

And the woman sayde: wherfore then hast thou determined on thys same maner agaynst the people of God? that the kyng shuld speake thys thing and be fautye therein, so that the kynge shulde not fet home agayne hys banyshed.

Go and tell Ieroboam, thus sayth the Lorde God of Israell: for as muche as I exalted the from amonge the comen people and made the prince ouer my people Israel,

Euen thou (O kynge) arte the tre, great & stronge. Thy greatnesse increaseth, and reacheth vnto the heauen, so doth thy power to the endes of the earthe.

And as thy seruaunt had here and there to do, he was gone. And the kynge of Israel sayde vnto hym: euen so shall the iudgement be as thou hast defyned it thy selfe.

Then spake Ieremy the Prophet all these wordes vnto Zedekiah king of Iuda in Ierusalem:
