For yf these thinges be amonge you and are plenteous, they wyll make you, that ye neyther shalbe ydle nor vnfruteful in the knowledge of oure Lord Iesu Christe.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you plenteouslye in all wysdome. Teache and exhorte youre owne selues, in psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songes, whiche haue fauoure with them, singinge in your hertes to the Lorde.
Fvrther more we beseche you brethren and exhorte you in the Lord Iesus, that ye increase more and more, euen as ye haue receiued of vs, howe ye oughte to walke and to please God.
Therfore my deare brethren, be ye stedfast and vnmouable alwayes ryche in the workes of the Lorde, for as much as ye knowe, howe that your labour is not in vaine in the Lorde.
We are bounde to thanke God alwayes for you brethren, as it mete, because that your fayth groweth excedingly, and euerye one of you swimmeth in loue towarde another betwene youre selues,
Proue youre selues whether you be in the fayth or not. Examen your owne selues: know ye not your owne selues, howe that Iesha Christe is in you, except ye be casteawayes?
howe that the aboundaunce of theyr reioysynge is, that they are tryed with muche trybulacyon. And therto thoughe they were excedynge poore, yet haue they geuen excedynge richelye, and that in synglenesse.
Nowe therfore, as ye are ryche in al partties in fayth, in worde, in knoweledge, in all feruentnes, and in loue, which ye haue to vs: euen so se that ye be plenteous in thys beneuolence.
He that was sowen among thornes, is he that heareth the worde of God: but the care of thys world, and the disceythfulnes of ryches choke the word, & so is he made vnfruteful.
Yea I thinke al thinges but losse for that excellent knowledge sake of Christ Iesu my Lord. For whom I haue counted al thinges losse, and do iudge them but dounge, that I myght wynne Christe,
Accordinge as hys godlye power hath geuen vnto vs al thinges that pertayne vnto lyfe and godlines, thorowe the knowledge of him that hath called vs by vertue & glory,
For yf they, after they haue escaped from the fylthines of the worlde thorowe the knowledge yf the Lord and of the sauiour Iesus Christe, are yet tangled agayne therin and ouercome, then is the latter ende worsse wyth them then the beginninge.
