For it is sufficient for vs, that we haue spent the time that is past of the lyfe, after the wil of the Gentiles, walking in wantonnes, lustes, dronckennes, in eatinge, drinkinge & in abominable Idolatrie.

and not in the luste of concupiscence, as do the heathen, which know not God,

Thus sayeth the Lord God: O ye prynces, ye haue now oppressed and destroyed ynough: now leaue of, handle now accordyng to the thing, that is equall and lauful: and thrust out my people nomore, sayeth the Lorde God.

For there are certayne craftely crept in, of which it was wrytten afore tyme vnto suche iudgement. They are vngodlye & turne the grace of oure God vnto wantonnes, and denye God the onelye Lorde, and oure Lord Iesus Christe.

And the tyme of thys ignoraunce God regarded not. But now he byddeth all men euerye where repent,

and tell that obstynate housholde of Israell: Thus sayeth the Lorde God: O house of Israell, ye haue now done ynough withall youre abhomynacyons,

But they go wronge by the reason of wyne, they fall and stacker because of stronge drincke. Yea euen the Priestes and Prophetes them selues go amysse, they are droncken with wyne, & weake brayned thorowe stronge drincke. They erre in seynge, and in iudgemente they fayle.

For we our selues also in tymes paste, vnwyse, dysobedient, deceyued, in daunger to lustes, and to dyuers maners of voluptuousnes, lyuyng in malycyousnes and enuye, ful of hate, hatyng one another.

I feare leste when I come agayne, God brynge me lowe amonge you, and I be constrayned to bewayle many of them which haue synned already, and haue not repented of the vncleanes, fornicacyon, and wantonnes, whiche they haue commytted.

Ye knowe that ye were Gentyles, and wente your wayes vnto domme Idols, euen as you were led.

Let vs walke honestlye as it were in the daye lyght: not in eatynge and drynkynge: neyther in chamburynge and wantonnes, neyther in stryfe & enuiynge:

theft, coueteousnes, wickednes, deceyte: vncleanenesse and a wicked eye, blasphemy, pryde, folishenes:

But firste wyll I sufficientlye rewarde their shamefull blasphemies and synnes, wherwyth they haue defyled my lande: Namely, wyth their stinckyng Idols and obhominacions, wherwith they haue fylled myne heretage.

they lurcke amonge the graues, and lye in the dennes all nyght. They eat swyne fleshe, and vncleane broth is in their vessels.

Wo be vnto them that ryse vp earlye to vse them selues in dronkennes, & yet at nyght are more superfluous wyth wyne.

When Asa hearde those wordes and the prophesye of Azariah the sonne of Obed the Prophete, he toke courage, and put away the abhomynacions oute of al the lande of Iuda and Beniamin, and oute of the cytyes which he wanne in mount Ephraim, and renued the aulter of the Lord that was before the porche of the Lorde.

And therfore he dyd exceding abhomynable, in folowynge Idoles, in all thynges lyke as dyd the Ammorites whyche the Lord cast oute before the chyldren of Israel.

Then Absalom commaunded hys younge men sayinge: marke when Amnons herte is mery wyth wyne, & when I byd you smyte Amnon then kyll him: feare not, for it is I that byd you, be bolde therfore, & playe the lustye bloudes.

Then make thou them this answere: Because youre fathers haue forsaken me (sayth the Lord) and haue cleued vnto straunge goddes, whom they haue honoured and worshypped: but me haue they forsaken, & haue not kepte my lawe.
