For after thys maner in the olde tyme dyd the holye women whiche trusted in God, tyer them selues, and were obedyente to theyr husbandes

She that is a verye wydowe and fryndelesse, putteth her trust in God & contynueth in supplicacyon & prayer nyghte and daye.

and well reported of in good workes: yf she haue nouryshed chyldren, yf she haue bene lyberall to straungers, yf she haue washed the saynctes fete, yf she haue mynystred vnto them whiche were in aduersitie, yf she were contynually geuen vnto all maner good workes.

Notwythstandyng thorow bearyng of chyldren they shalbe saued, so they continue in faythe, loue & holynes with discrecion.

Ther was at Ioppa a certaine woman, (which was a disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Doreas) the same was ful of good workes and almes dedes, whiche she did.

And she had bene a weddowe aboute .iiij. score and .iiij. yeares, which went neuer out of the temple, but serued God with fastinge and prayer night & daye.

Thou shalte leaue thy fatherlesse chyldren behynde the, and I wyll kepe them and thy wydowes shall take theyr comforte in me.

Sin. As for fauour, it is disceatfull, & beuty is a vayne thing: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she is worthy to be praysed.

And Hannah prayd & sayd: myne herte reioyseth in the Lord, myne horne is hye in the Lorde, & my mouthe is wyde open ouer mine enemyes, for I reioyse in thy sauynge.

Thorow fayth Sara also receyued strength to be with chyld, and was delyuered of a child when she was past age, because she iudged hym faythfull which had promysed.

but wyth suche as becommeth women that professe the worshyppyng of God thorowe good workes.

These all continued wyth one accorde in prayer and supplicacion with the women and Mary the mother of Iesu, and with hys brethren.

Aleph. Who so fyndeth an honest faythfull woman, she is much more worth then pearles.

Neuerthelesse do ye so that euerye one of you loue his wyfe truely euen as hym selfe: And let the wyfe se that she feare her husbande.

Blessed be God the father of oure Lorde Iesus Christe, whiche thorowe his aboundaunt mercye begat vs agayne vnto lyuely hope by the resurreccyon of Iesus Christe from death,
