which signifyeth baptisme that nowe saueth vs, not the puttinge awaye of the fylth of the fleshe, but in that a good conscience consenteth to God, by the resurreccion of Iesus Christe,

in that ye are buried, wt him thorow baptisme in whom ye are also risen again thorow fayth, that is wroughte by the operacion of God, which raysed hym from death.

Go therfore & teache all nacyons, baptisyng them in the name of the father, and the sonne, & the holye ghoste.

For Christe is not entred into the holye places that are made wyth handes, whiche are but simylytudes of true thynges: but is entred into verye heauen, for to appere nowe in the syghte of God for vs:

Fyghte the good fyght of fayth. Laye hande on eternall lyfe, wherevnto thou arte called and hast professed a good professyon before manye wytnesses.

Seynge that we haue such promyses dearely beloued, let vs cleanse oure selues from al fylthynesse of the fleshe & spyrite, and grow vp to full holynesse in the feare of God.

These thinges brethren I haue described in myne owne person and Apollos for youre sakes, that ye myght learne by vs, that no man counte of him selfe beionde that, which is aboue written: that one swell not against another for anye mans cause.

And he toke them the same houre of the nyght, and washed theyr woundes, and was baptysed with all that belonged vnto him strayght waye.

And as they wente on their waye, they came vnto a certaine water, and the chamberlaine sayed: Se here is water, what shall let me to be baptysed?

In that tyme shall the house of Dauid and the citesins at Ierusalem haue an open well, to wash of synne and vnclennesse.

neuerthelesse death reygned from Adam to Moyses, euen ouer them also that synned not, with lyke transgression as did Adam: whyche is the similytude of hym that is to come.

for he considered that God was able to rayse it vp agayne from death. Wherfore receyued he hym, for an ensample.

Oure reioysinge is this, the testimony of oure conscience, that in synglenes and Godly purenes, and not in fleshely wysdome, but by the grace of God, we haue had oure conuersation in the worlde, and moste of all to youwardes.

for the ende of the commaundement is loue that commeth of a pure hert, & of a good conscience, and of fayth vnfayned:

Howe muche more shall the bloude of Christe (which thorow the eternall spyryte offred hym selfe without spot to God) pourge youre conscyences from dead workes, for to serue the lyuyng God?

let vs draw nye wyth a true herte in a full fayth, sprynkeled in our hertes from an euyl conscyence, and washed in our bodyes wyth pure water,

Praye for vs. We haue confydence because we haue a good conscience in all thynges, and desyre to lyue honestlye.

hauinge a good conscience, that when they backbyte you as euyl doers, they maye be ashamed, for as muche as they haue falsely accused your good conuersation in Christ.

Simon Peter sayed vnto him: Lord not my fete onelye: but also my handes and my heade.

Philyp saide vnto him: If thou beleue with all thyne herte, thou maieste. He aunswered and saied, I beleue that Iesus Christe is the sonne of God.
