Wherfore laye a syde all malycyousnes, and all gyle, and dyssymulacyon, and enuye, and all backbytynge:

Let all bitternes, fearsnes and wrath, roring and cursed speakinge, be put awaye from you, wyth all maliciousnes.

Wherfore laye a parte all fylthynes, all superfluytye of malycyousnes, and receyue wyth mekenes the worde that is grafted in you, whiche is able to saue your soules.

Back byte not one another, brethren. He that backbyteth hys brother, and he that iudgeth hys brother, backbyteth the lawe, and iudgeth the lawe. But and yf thou iudge the law, thou art not an obseruer of the law, but a iudge.

If anye man longe after lyfe, and loueth to se good dayes, let him refrayne his tonge from euil, & his lippes that they speake not gyle.

And it semeth to them a straunge thynge, that ye runne not also with them vnto the same excesse of riote, and therfore speake they euyl of you,

that he hence forwarde shoulde lyue as muche tyme as remayneth in the fleshe, not after the iustes of men, but after the wyl of God.

Grudge not one agaynst another brethren lest ye be damned. Beholde the iudge standeth before the dore.

Wherfore let vs also (seyng that we are compassed wyth so great a multytude of witnesses) laye awaye all that presseth doune, and the synne that hangeth on and let vs runne, wyth pacience vnto the batayle that is set before vs

Euen so muste theyr wyues be honeste, not euyll speakers, but sober and faythfull in all thynges.

Let hym refrayne his tonge from euell, & hys lyppes that they speake no gyle.

whiche dyd no synne, neyther was there gyle founde in hys mouth:

And the elder women lykewyse, that they be in such rayment as becommeth holynes, not false accusars, not geuen to muche drynkynge, but teachers of honest thinges

Blessed is the man, vnto whom the Lord imputeth no synne, in whose, spirite ther is no gyle.

Brethren be not chyldren in wyt howebeit as concerninge maliciousnes be children: but in wyt be perfect.

beyng ful of al vnryghtuous doing, of fornicacion, wickednes, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuye, murther, debate, disceite, euyl condicioned, whisperers,

Either howe canst thou saye to thy brother? Brother, let me pul out the moote that is thine eye: When thou perceyuest not the beame that is in thine owne eye? Ypocryte, cast out the beame that is in thine owne eye fyrst, and then shalt thou se perfectlye to pul out the mote out of thy brothers eye.

So are ye, for outwarde ye apeare righteouse vnto men, when within, ye are full of hypocresie and iniquitie.

Hypocrite, first caste out the beame out of thyne owne eye, and then shalte thou se clearelye to plucke out the moote out of thy brothers eye.

A Psalme of Dauid. Fret not thy selfe at the vngodly be not thou enuious agaynst the euel doers.

For I feare least it come to passe, that when I come, I shall not fynde you suche as I woulde, and I shalbe founde amonge you debate, enuiynge, wrath, stryfe, backbytynges, whisperynges, swellynges & discorde.

Be not thou gelous ouer wycked men, and desyre not thou to be among them.

Folowe not a wycked man, and chose none of hys wayes:

& in their mouthes was founde no gyle. For they are without spot before the trone of God.

as fre, and not as hauynge the lybertye for a cloke of maliciousnes, but euen as the seruauntes of God.

Eyther do ye thynke that the scrypture sayeth in vayne. The spyryte that dwelleth in you lusteth euen contrarye to enuye:

But, yf ye haue bitter enuyinge and strife in youre hertes, reioyce not: neyther be lyars agaynste the trueth.

Oure exhortacyon was not to bringe you to erroure, nor yet to vnclennes, neyther was it wyth gile,

Therfore let vs kepe holy daye, not wyth olde leuen, neither with the leuen of malycyousnes and wyckednes, but with the swete bread of purenes and trueth.

Iesus sawe Nathanael comminge to him and sayde of him: Beholde a right Israelyte, in whom is no gyle.

Wo be to you scribes and pharyses, hypocrites, for ye are as graues which appere not, and the men that walke ouer them, are not ware of them.

Moreouer yf ye destroye the syluer worckes of youre Idoles, and caste awaye the golden coppes that ye deckte them wythall (as fylthynes) & saye get you hence:

Let not thy wrath and gelosy moue the, to folowe the wycked and vngodlye.

A merye hert is the life of the bodye, but rancoure consumeth awaye the bones.

As for suche as be fayned, dissemblers and ypocrytes, they heape vp wrath for them selues: for they call not vpon him, though they be hys presoners.

As there gathered together an innumerable multitude of people (in so muche that they trode one another) he began to saye vnto hys discyples: Fyrste of all beware of the leuen of the Phariseis, which is hypocrisye.

Oughte we to geue, or ought we not to geue? He vnderstode theyr simulacyon, and sayde vnto them: Why tempte you me? Brynge me a peny that I maye se it.

and wyll deuide hym, and geue him his rewarde with hipocrites. There shalbe weping and gnashing of tethe.

Hypocrites, well prophecied of you Esaias sayinge:

Then then, shall man caste awaye hys Goddes of syluer and golde (whiche he neuerthelesse had made to honoure them) vnto Moles and Backes:

And why? I was greued at the wicked, to se the vngodly in suche prosperitie.
