If we saye that we haue no sinne, we deceiue oure selues, and trueth is not in vs.

for al haue sinned, and lacke the prayse that is of valoure before God,

for in many thinges we synne all. Yf a man synne not in worde, the same is a perfect man and able to tame al the bodye.

for there is not one iuste vpon earth, that doth good, and synneth not.

As for vs, we go all astraye (lyke shepe) euery one turneth hys owne waye. But thorow hym, the Lorde pardoneth all oure synnes.

He that sayth I knowe him, and kepeth not his commaundementes, is a liar, and the veritie is not in him.

If we say we haue not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in vs.

Who can saye: my herte is cleane, I am innocent from sinne?

What is man, that he shoulde be cleane? what hath he (whiche is borne of a woman) wherby he myght be knowne to be ryghtuous?

Yf anye man seme to hym selfe, that he is somwhat, when in dede he is nothynge the same deceyueth hym selfe in hys ymaginacyon.

We are al as vncleane thinge, and all oure ryghteousnesses are as the clothes defyled with the floures of a woman: we fall euerychone as the leafe, for oure synnes carye vs awaie like the winde.

And entre not into iudgement with thy seruaunt, for in thy sighte shall no man lyuyng be iustefied.

Yf anye man amonge you seme deuoute, & refrayne not his tonge, but deceyue his owne hert: thys mannes deuocyon is in vayne.

and vayne disputacyons of men wyth corrupte myndes, and destytute of the trueth, whiche thynke that lucre is Godlines, from suche separate thy self.

But how may a man compared vnto God, be iustified? Or, how can he be cleane that is borne of a woman?

And finally when they shall haue synned agaynst the (for there is no man that synneth not) & thou art angrye with them and hast delyuered them to their enemyes, that they be caryed awaye prysoners vnto the land of theyr enemyes, whether ferre or neare,

Let no man deceyue hym selfe. Yf anye man seme, wyse amonge you, let hym be a fole in thys worlde that he maye be wyse.

Who can make it cleane, that commeth of an vncleane thynge? No body.

If they shall synne agaynste the (as there is no man but that he shall synne) & thou be angrye wyth them, and delyuer them to their enemyes, and they layde them away captyue vnto a lande ferre or neare,

for the truethes sake, whyche dwelleth in vs, and shalbe in vs for euer.

yf we saye that we haue felowshippe with him, and yet walke in darckenes, we lye, and do not the trueth,

And se that ye be doars of the worde & not hearers onely, deceyuyng your owne selues wyth sophystrye.

But the euyll man and disceyuers shal waxe worsse & worsse whyle they deceyue, and are deceyued them selues.

As for that, I know it is so of a trueth, that a man compared vnto God, can not be iustified.

I reioysed greatly, when the brethren came and testifyed of the trueth that is in the, how thou walkest in the trueth.

and receiue the reward of vnrightuousnes. They count it pleasure to lyue deliciously for a season. Spottes they are and filthines, liuinge at pleasure, and in disceiueable waies feastinge with you,

Yet darrest thou saye: I am giltlesse: Tush, his wrath can not come vpon me. Beholde, I will reason with the because thou darrest say: I haue not offended.

Ye are of youre father the deuyl, and the lustes of your father ye wyll do. He was a murtherer from the begynnyng, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truthe in hym. When he speaketh a lye, then speaketh he of hys owne. For he is a lyar, and the father therof.

as it is wrytten: There is none righteous, no not one:

Yf a man saye, I loue God, and yet hate his brother, he is a lyar. For howe can he that loueth not his brother whom he hath sene, loue god, whom he hath not sene?

If a leprosye breake out in the skynne and couer all the skynne from the heed to the foote ouer all whersoeuer the Preast loketh,

And he sayd: what haue they sene in thyne house? And Hezekiah sayd: al that is in my house, haue they sene: there is nothinge amonge my treasure that I haue not shewed them.
