In that day shall you not be ashamed of all your doings, in which you have transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of you those who rejoice in your pride, and you shall no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

​LORD, my heart is not puffed up, nor my eyes lofty: neither do I occupy myself with great matters, or in things too high for me.

Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity at my heels shall surround me?

For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: you shall not be ashamed nor disappointed for all eternity.

And the lowly man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:

Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither be perplexed, for you shall not be put to shame: for you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.

For your shame you shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess double: everlasting joy shall be theirs.

Thus says the LORD, In this manner will I spoil the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

Do not trust in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.

For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellence of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left shall fall by the sword.

O Lord, according to all your righteousness, I plead with you, let your anger and your fury be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach to all who are around us.

And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;

Their heads judge for reward, and their priests teach for wages, and their prophets divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? no evil can come upon us.

And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, You take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: why then do you lift yourselves up above the congregation of the LORD?

And do not think to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as our father: for I say to you, that God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.

Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast of God,

As it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense: and whoever believes in him shall not be ashamed.

Therefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, chosen and precious: and he who believes in him shall not be disgraced.
