Yea, they made their hearts as hard as an adamant stone, so that they would not hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts has sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.

And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning to the LORD God of Israel.

But they did not obey, neither turned their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.

Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and pleaded with the LORD, and the LORD repented of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we bring about great evil against our souls.

And now I have this day declared it to you; but you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor anything for which he has sent me to you.

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh:

That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

For they are impudent children and stiff hearted. I send you to them; and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

The LORD has been greatly displeased with your fathers.

Should you not hear the words which the LORD has cried out by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?

For this people’s heart has become fat, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Those by the way side are those who hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, so that they do not believe and become saved.

For the heart of this people has become fat, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

For the prophecy did not come in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
