Then said I, I will not feed you: that which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and distress with which their enemies, and those who seek their lives, shall distress them.
And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask you, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? you shall then say to them, What burden? I will even forsake you, says the LORD.
Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
And when he comes, he shall strike the land of Egypt, and deliver those that are for death to death; and those that are for captivity to captivity; and those that are for the sword to the sword.
Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of you, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in you, and the whole remnant of you will I scatter into all the winds.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, so that you shall be no priest to me: seeing that you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing on it, but leaves only, and said to it, Let no fruit grow on you from now on for ever. And soon after the fig tree withered away.
Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the light, so that darkness does not come upon you: for he who walks in darkness does not know where he goes.
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
