You have also given me the shield of your salvation: and your gentleness has made me great.

Now I Paul myself plead with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

For I fear, that, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would like, and that I shall be found by you such as you would not like: lest there be debates, envying, wrath, strife, backbiting, whispering, pride, tumults:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in a fault, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love;

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Let your moderation be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherishes her children:

Even so must their wives be serious, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy for unjust gain; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easily approached, full of mercy and good fruits, without bias, and without hypocrisy.

Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He that speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law, and judges the law: but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.

Therefore laying aside all malice, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envy, and all evil speaking,

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion on one another, love as brethren, be tenderhearted, be courteous:

In which they think it strange that you do not run with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

But chiefly those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise authority. Presumptuous and self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of that which is honorable

But these speak evil of those things which they do not know: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise authority, and speak evil of that which is honorable.
