For innumerable evils have surrounded me: my iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head: therefore my heart fails me.

The young man said to him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what do I still lack?

And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years have I served you, neither did I at any time transgress your commandment: and yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

For Moses describes the righteousness which is of the law, That the man who does those things shall live by them.

And the commandment, which was established for life, I found to bring death.

For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that you should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit for God.

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead in which we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, worked in me all manner of evil desires. For without the law sin was dead.

Because the carnal mind is at enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live to God.

For as many as are depending on the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
