But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread, till you return to the ground; for out of it were you taken: for dust you are, and to dust shall you return.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit of it, and did eat, and gave also to her husband with her; and he did eat.

Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sins, it shall die.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men for justification and life.

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

That as sin has reigned leading to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness for eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

What fruit did you have then in those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Among whom also we all had our conduct in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

For in many things we all offend. If anyone does not offend in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to control the whole body.
