Or he that exhorts, in exhortation: he that gives, let him do it with sincerity; he that rules, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

He has distributed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

The wicked borrows, and does not pay back: but the righteous shows mercy, and gives.

He that has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.

In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hand: for you know not which shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor devising, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, to which you go.

The vile person shall be no more called generous, nor the selfish person said to be bountiful.

But the generous man devises generous things; and by generous things shall he stand.

You meet him that rejoices and works righteousness, those that remember you in your ways: behold, you are angry; for we have sinned: in faithfulness is continuance, and in it we shall be saved.

And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, To the extent that you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it unto me.

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cling the Lord.

Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, You men and kindred, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the believers with many words, and confirmed them.

And when he had passed through those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,

Be careful therefore of yourselves, and of all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which the Lord has purchased with his own blood.

And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Because for this reason you pay taxes also: for they are God’s servants, attending continually to this very thing.

And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, various kinds of tongues.

But he who prophesies speaks to men for edification, and encouragement, and comfort.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conduct in the world, and more abundantly towards you.

But I fear that by some means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds will be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what a man has, and not according to what he has not.

Being enriched in everything to all abundance, which causes through us thanksgiving to God.

While by the trustworthiness of this ministry they glorify God for your professed subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for your generous distribution to them, and to everyone;

Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.

Servants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ;

You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your threshing floor, and out of your winepress: of that with which the LORD your God has blessed you you shall give to him.

And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD your God has chosen to place his name there.

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:

So having strong affection for you, we were willing to have imparted to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own souls, because you were dear to us.

Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and teaching.

That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give to others, willing to share;

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.

Obey those who have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

And I plead with you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter to you in few words.

Greet all those who have the rule over you, and all the saints. Those of Italy greet you.

Remember those who have the rule over you, who have spoken to you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.
