Thus they changed their glory into the likeness of an ox that eats grass.

To whom then will you liken God? or what likeness will you compare to him?

Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things, that brings out their host by number: he calls them all by names by the greatness of his might, because he is strong in power; not one fails.

The carpenter stretches out his ruler; he marks it out with a line; he fits it with chisels, and he marks it out with the compass, and makes it like the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.

Has a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which does not profit.

So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about.

In which were all kinds of four-footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and birds of the air.

Seeing then that we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like gold, or silver, or stone, sculptured by art and man’s devising.

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, even as you were led.

You shall not make for yourself any sculptured image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

For the time of our life that is past is sufficient for us to have done the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in corrupt passions, lusts, excess of wine, reveling, banqueting, and abominable idolatries:

And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
