Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be completely burned up with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judges her.

If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs to God.

In that day the LORD with his mighty and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and marsh reed, in one day.

Behold, I am against you, O you most proud, says the Lord GOD of hosts: for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.

Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

Thus says the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be completely broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labor in vain, and the community in the fire, and they shall be weary.

Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will repay to her a recompense.

And the LORD shall speak forth his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong who executes his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can endure it?

Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

Saying, We give you thanks, O Lord God Almighty, who are, and were, and are to come; because you have taken to yourself your great power, and have reigned.

And the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

And the woman which you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.

For in one hour such great riches has come to nothing. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

And they threw dust on their heads, and cried out, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, in which all were made rich who had ships in the sea because of her magnificence! For in one hour is she made desolate.

And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
