He comes forth like a flower, and is cut down: he flees also as a shadow, and does not continue.

But you, O LORD, shall endure for ever; and your remembrance to all generations.

Because of the voice of my groaning my bones cling to my skin.

When the wicked spring up as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the beauty thereof is as the flower of the field:

Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

For the sun has no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withers the grass, and its flower falls, and the beauty of the appearance of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
