You carry them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which grows up.

He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

Which were cut down before the time, whose foundation was overflowed with a flood:

They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.

They have passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that speeds to the prey.

As a dream when one awakes; so, O Lord, when you awake, you shall despise their image.

My years are departed, and are removed from me like a shepherd’s tent: I have cut off my life like a weaver: he will cut me off with wasting sickness: from day even to night will you make an end of me.

I was troubled till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night will you make an end of me.

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the beauty thereof is as the flower of the field:

The grass withers, the flower fades: because the spirit of the LORD blows upon it: surely the people is grass.

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls away:
